Red Alert is better

I can't say b/c I skipped RA1 when it came out. I'm only getting around to playing it now. Other than that, I've played every single C&C between TD and RA3

Why doesn't RA1 have queuing?

>Why doesn't RA1 have queuing?
there is queuing in the remaster

Is there an option I have to toggle? Or is it disabled in single player b/c it doesn't work for me?

Red Alert blows Tiberium Dawn out of the water in every front including game balance and mission design.

You can toggle it in the UI menu. It's turned off by default.

Its on by default, but if you chose legacy mode it disables it. It's the last option in the general settings

I guess RA is a better game, but I somehow like TD more. I guess I just prefer Nod vs GDI rather than Soviets vs Allies.

oh, thnx

This is the real Tanya

That’s not Kari Wuhrer, that’s the YR Tanya, and I believe she’s in porn. Still fine as fuck though. Kari is just Ichiban.

>That’s not Kari Wuhrer, that’s the YR Tanya
But... YR Tanya was being played by Kari. What are you smoking user?

Its Kari, she just bleached her hair b/c she was in the middle of one of her B-movies at the time.

RA1 is better from a QoL standpoint, but if TD had all the same mechanics upgrades it would stand superior. Red alert balance feels wonky, the buildings look really boring and the units are not only reskinned TD units with bad sprite reworks (the heavy tank looks so fucking stupid) but they also sound worse, and feel like they do shit for damage.

TD balance is fucked, riflemen are useless, bazookas are OP, tanks are slow as fuck.

My name is KANE LIVES, you fuck with me, you fucking with the best!

Just finished the "stop the nukes" level on RA1 allies. What a shit mission, until you find out about tanya the level is unwinnable and like always any mission where you might want to use spies they spam the map with dogs until spies are worthless.

retard

her replacement in 3 has no soul

>Let the Joules flow
So THAT'S what he's saying. 20 years and I never figured that one out.

>RA3 fonts
Heresy

red alert 3 looks like a mobile game

that's just the video maker's assumption
sounds like juice to me

I like to pretend he says "Let the juice flow"

cnc.fandom.com/wiki/Tesla_trooper_(Red_Alert_2)

And RA1 balance is soviet tankspam vs allied tanks being so fast they have to dance kite shit for hours just to get shit done

>riflemen are useless
This. Grenadier and flamethrower friendly fire is fucking ridiculous too

Is it better to spam medium tanks or light tanks?

Tiberian Dawn has the better setting, but it was the first game in the series and damn does it show. There are a bunch of glaring issues that we were able to look past 25 years ago, but nowadays I wouldn't have minded if they fixed it for the remaster.
Harvesters always going to the far side of ore patches like total retards, for example.

wikia isn't really a source either

Let the joules flow!

What made RA2's campaign so kino and emit so much soul

Just got this game on sale, wtf bros. The cast is hilariously stacked with known names
Tim Curry
Peter Stormare
Jonathan Pryce
J. K. Simmons
Jenny McCarthy(lol)
Randy Couture
Gina Carano
George Takei
David Hasselhoff
But the gameplay and the units is bonkers. All the single player battles are just big random clusterfucks. I'm not sure what to think.

Developers that viewed games as a passion, not as a number.

What is this futuristic onions-infused Iron Man garbage? Tesla Troopers wear a rusty diving suit and poorly fitted overalls.

RA3 is missed potential, the campaign feels like Starcraft 2 Co Op missions, completely missed the mark

They spent 90% of the budget on big actors and the rest on marketing, that's why the gameplay is mediocre at best. Balance is all over the fucking place as well.

Medium, the soviets spam V2s which can wreck light tanks.

>Good art direction (although not as good as TS)
>Perfect balance between seriousness and goofyness
>It was a fun game to play all around
>Frank's OST

Generals

everyone is playing RA1 instead of TD mp for a reason, and that's because TD is broken shit

>David Hasselhoff
I forgot about him.
That was one joke that worked, I'll give EA that.

Found the zoomer

It was made by people on top of their game. In every aspect it excels: graphics, live videos, unit design and balance.

It's still my favourite RTS to revisit.

don't forget map design in the campaigns

t. iWat

Steered too hard into the memes and tried to fix gameplay that wasn't broken. Every unit being every unit via the abilities and transformations was just unpleasant to play.

Yet I kinda like the portrayal of the Soviets more in RA1. Hell, even Tim Curry was more intimidating than Romanov. Yes, I know that main antagonist was supposed to be Yuri, but still.

By the time of RA2 Westwood was already deep in the red, I wouldn't say they were "on top of their game". They were good at making games, but terrible at running a company. RA2 already had quite a lot of EA involvement.

Tiberian Alert and Red Dawn.

I honestly liked the amphibious units in RA3, but the rest of the game is just so off-putting. Especially the broken support powers.

>Red Dawn.
The one with Patrick Swayze?

Well i only meant in terms of game creation

The economy was broken and the overreliance on micro is completely contrary to C&C

Oh yeah, I just remembered the stupid "Just place refinery here" ore mines. That also completely removed a staple of C&C, the danger of mining outside your base.

That and it is impossible to keep constant unit production without expanding into a second base
