I currently have a gtx 1060 6gb laptop from work, and I couldn't decide between building a PC and buying a ps5. I don't have a 4k TV, but I do have a 1440p 144hz ips monitor that I use as my main laptop screen, and I heard that 1440p isnt supported by PS4, so it likely wont be supported by PS5 as well.
What would you do Zig Forumsros? Is anyone else in the same situation as me? Should I just build a PC, even if it's more expensive?

yeah it's pretty ugly I agree, but idk I wouldve liked to play Bloodborne and some God of war, maybe even Spiderman. I never played the playstation exclusives, and I would probably love them, Zig Forums shitposting aside, I love most video games, both old and new.
There's no point going PS5. The games looked meh, the graphics looked meh (just 30fps PS4 all over again) and the thing will be expensive. Xbox looked more appealing, and I say that as a PC guy mainly.
Either buy a tv or upgrade a PC. 1440p 144hz monitor is the worst for consoles, no resolution support and many games will target 30 fps.
Also, PC isn't more expensive in the long run since you don't need to pay for online.
yeah I think I'm gonna stick to PC then, but I would've bought a ps5 for sure if it supported 1440p. I'm still hopeful they will, but yeah. I heard that xbox does support it thought, but if xbox doesnt have any exclusives I would rather spend some more money for a PC.

How much would it be to build an equivalent PC to a ps5? I'm guessing since ps5 targets 4k 30fps, it's kind of equivalent to running games in 1440p 60fps, so I would choose to do that. I heard people saying its around 1200-1300$.

the ps4 is the first PS I have ever owned and frankly I regret purchasing it. Yeah, I played Bloodborne and Sekiro on it, but that's about it. The rest are games I played for fifteen minutes and then never played again (MGSV, FFXV) or games that I haven't even played at all (TW3, RDR2)

Don't know what your situation is. Im buying ps5 on launch and also building budget pc so I can record let's play video for YouTube and twitch for latest games. Does you tv matter when you play games in 30fps? My build is mainly ryzen 3600 and gtx 1650 to edit videos in 4k.

the TV should be 4k or it bottlenecks the ps5 since most games will be rendered at 4k 30. Like, if you are gonna play in 30fps at least have them look good. And the problem with 1440p monitors is that since this resolution isnt supported by ps4/5, and it isnt a multiple of 1080p, it will look like garbage, or it will have to do some shit like upscale to 4k and then downscale to 1440p which is godawful.
Why cant these retards allow us to choose the resolution, for a better framerate? At least offer the bare bones customization possible, fucks sake
