I will say as an entire experience (using the actual console and all) playing original Xbox is a more pleasant experience in the current year, the games genuinely look clearer and run better than their ps2 versions in many cases

PS2 was old-school. Xbox was entering new-school territory. From a purely aesthetic perspective, the PS2 was better.

It absolutely is up for debate. PS2 had several great Japanese-developed single player games and that was it. So does the 3DS, doesn’t make it the best console ever. It only sold 150 million because 50 million units came from a budget launch in South America after PS3 came out in 2006. The majority of its library was casual shovelware garbage that you guys complain about on Wii. The hardware was awful, most games use odd/even frame reconstruction rendering with 640x240 60 hz frame buffers to exploit interlacing since a 640x480 frame still gets interlaced on output so they visually look similar on SD TVs except PS2 games are severely aliased because of it and even PS2 emulators require deintetlacing. It was because the framebuffer was only 4MB. It was a bitch to code for and utilize the vertex units

Nah, most games were multiplat, whether it was for arcade or Genesis. The quality of the exclusives is also much higher on the PS2, especially for JRPGs.
