There's nothing inherently autistic about VNs. It's just the newest medium for puppetry shows, which weren't always intended for children. It's also how comics, manga, and anime all got started, people with popup shows would use puppetry and detailed "setpiece" images for important scenes. If anything, the VN medium closer to the depth of a proper book or comic more than any other genre of video game.

I've still yet to play S. I'd want to reread the first game common route.

Be warned: S has Koyuki's route (which has lots of good action), but it's locked behind the 10 main routes. Also, visit the tutorial a few times.

I just played through the first VN and I'm going through S now. I like the first one more than S because I feel like a lot of S routes have more focus on fucking and less focus on the characters, which was what really appealed to me in the first game.

They normally use exaggerated proportions, personalities or reactions, something that many people consider autistic, thanks to the lack of understanding emotions and reactions.

The other thing, that is that if it's a interactive medium, yes, it is an interactive medium, but it doesn't have the same level has other videogames have.
