This is the new meta for Byzantium in the EU4 Emperor patch:

This is the new meta for Byzantium in the EU4 Emperor patch:
>declare war on Epirus on the first possible day but do not rival anyone until then or Epirus will ally them
>if the Turkish ruler is not an imperialist, reload, because he'll not go straight for you, meaning you've lost
>if you do not get a morale mil advisor, restart, because you've lost
>do not ally great powers or the Turks will simply snake around you until they're strong enough to take you and them on
>do not siege Gallipoli until you've completely stackwiped the Ottomans because some mouthbreathing retard made it a hill province; do not siege it with anything less than a 2 siege general and only after a complete Ottoman stackwipe and even then it's a risky proposition
>the Marmara sea can no longer be blocked off so stackwiping the Ottomans with a 6 shock merc general is the only option
>immediately take a mil advisor and set your focus to mil or you won't be able to catch up to Ottoman mil tech, in which case you've lost
>sometimes the Ottomans will ally France just for the hell of it; in that case, restart

bravo, Paradox, bravo, another fine product, I see

what the hell are you talking about retard strait blocking works fine

the solo strat of rushing heavies and deleting their fleet is still the easiest and least luck dependent

I mean is it really any more retarded than literally any other meta in the game? You always have to pull off some retarded diplomatic shit to survive more than 50 years as a minor outside the HRE.

>>do not siege Gallipoli
Who's going to stop me, the siege police?

Based and Churchpilled

no, there's an Ottoman fort on each of the Marmara straits, meaning that you can't stop them from crossing over into Europe until you've taken Gallipoli

they did stop me, it was 22k Ottomans vs 33k of me and my allies, and I lost most of my army and the war because I didn't look up Gallipoli's terrain as only a complete degenerate would buff the Ottomans up even more by giving them a super defensible fort on the strait and I simply didn't rate Paradox that lowly

Is there anything good about the update or is it just european flavor?

Remember the Dardanelles

are you blind? There’s two straits, one to you and one to what used to be Edirne, it’s the same as it’s always been. Hill doesn’t even matter because you’ll 100% lose if they come from anatolia and make you take their -2 crossing penalty.

The real king cheese meta is still baiting their entire army onto Naxos with a suicide stack and locking them down there while you occupy their entire country for free, then dow one of their guarantees before the month tick after peace to get their new capital fort for free and a 5 year truce

WOOOOOOOW why is this empire a thousand years in decline so difficult to ahistorically win as??

the current build is a broken mess, half the new features don’t work and even simple shit like demanding money in peace deals is completely fucked. Avoid until it’s in better shape, which won’t be until at least some time this week.

Where is the best place to torrent eu4?

Fatguy or cs[worst fate girl].

At least it's not as bad as playing Poland
>Finally unite the commonwealth and ready to fuck Muscovy
>They've allied with Austria and The ottomans
>mfw

sneaky russian bandits, like all paradox titles

I want the new MEIOU patch... don't care about vanilla Paradox shit anymore.

Poland is easymodo, there’s definitely some way to break up that alliance chain, or get your own allies to take it on and win. Their ideas are busted and their position is almost unchallenged for to much of the game to not have a huge powerbase by the time the big players get rolling

meanwhile the chad SACRVM ROMANVM IMPERIVM is stronger than ever

>woodniggers LARPing as romans
Beyond sad.

based to the max
fuck greekoids

I hate how the new launcher makes it harder to play with mods.

>When the Palatinate inherits Burgundy and becomes the Emperor

Just allow the Byzantines to die. Rome needs to go into the grave. Rome is no longer needed.

I like the new estates mechanics and land ownership.

the new changes would actually be good if they had finished the patch before releasing it

>he needs all these crutches to win
just ally skanderbro and use him to relief sieges. it has never been this easy because now you dont need to rng win selanik before otto gets your capital, you can directly go there

Rome outlived its usefulness. It should have died out before the First Crusade happened.

Is that why some streamers are not playing it that usually do?

>sometimes the Ottomans will ally France just for the hell of it; in that case, restart

The Ottomans and France were historical allies in that timeframe. They had a working relationship over a mutual hatred for the Austrians/HRE even before a formal Alliance was made.

>a fucking 5 province decadent and corrupt shithole has nearly 0 chance to beat a much larger nation that is on a conquering spree
>this is a bad thing
fuck byzaboos, the game should just start in 1453 and they should just have to play as trebizond or some shit if they want to re-establish byzantium

I don’t, they tried to make a system that’s “more involved” than the old one but they instead made it even less so, just like they did in 1.26. Instead of milking points every 20 years you just click one button every five, it’s even more boring and simple and has zero depth now.

Best option is always, ALWAYS
>buy game
>cs rin ru the dlcs

You don't need to unite the Commonwealth to fuck Muscovy, they are a very snowbally nation and if you don't attack them early they will eventually become unstoppable. If you don't want to conquer those lands, the best way to contain Muscovy is to ally or guarantee Novgorod.

the estates change was a complete failure, other than reducing micro. they somehow managed to make it even more braindead than before
