Who is genuinely gonna buy them up?

>Microsoft cucks all four of them

Honestly, they were the first company I thought of when the story broke.

In a perfect world
Valve , WB has staff members that are heavily underrated in the TECHNOLOGY field specifically the last few remnants of the FEAR staff in monolith and the creative writers in Rocksteady

honestly it isn't even about the IPs more so the staff

>Sony has Marvel
>Microsoft could have DC
Heh

>sony is gonna swoop in and BTFO Microsoft once again
Cant wait

Idk. They would have to spend a shit ton to get the studios and the licensing otherwise the deal wouldn't be worth it

I think wb will split them up and a few companies will buy one or more of the studios.

Sony or Microsoft hopefully. Preferably Sony

>movie company for movie console
Can't say you're wrong.

I don't think Sony has 4 billion dollars lying around

To be honest whoever does buy them will most likely close down a few of the studios as soon as the acquisition goes through to recoup losses. Also the licensing issue is huge.

Supposedly, the licensing is included. Otherwise 4 billoon for those devs would be a horrible deal.

I just read an article that specifically said the licensing isn't included.

but if every talented game developer worked at valve, there'd be no good games left because valve is only releasing one a decade

The dude probably doesn’t know what they’re talking abour

Does this mean that the F.E.A.R. IP would also be bought alongside it?

What makes WB Games worth buying?

amazon

but if its going to be microsoft its going to be microsoft+DC vs sony+marvel

yup. it will probably go with monolith

What would that accomplish? Fear 2 and 3 are shit, so it's clearly not the IP that matters.

>fear 2 shit
tell me what is it like having shit taste?

honestly amazon really could use some well known studios and IP. They are struggling right now.

>Microsoft buys WB Games
>Killer Instinct x Mortal Kombat could happen

Have you actually played it? It's the quintessential example of how consolization can ruin a game. Everything is incredibly watered down from the first game: gunplay, hit feedback, movement, etc.

A F.E.A.R. reboot that would be like the first game but ampled up with a even greater level variety and a proper upgraded AI of that game would matter

They're not going to allow Monolith to make a PC-focused FPS.

Heck, they're not even going to allow them to make a shitty console FPS. They've been stuck making 3rd person Ubisoft-style open worlds for the last decade now.

hopefully microsoft

>Microsoft buys them
>F.E.A.R. remake as Microsoft exclusive
The shiposting would be awesome

>Also available on PC

If you don't have a gaming pc you are still cut off from it

Unironically hopefully Microsoft. All of their dev teams have said that because of game pass they are not expected to sell a certain number of copies to be deemed profitable. Because of this Microsoft lets them make whatever the fuck they want. If EA Activision or take two gets them they will force them to only make sequels to their popular franchise games and the second sales look low they will close any wb studio that isnt netherrealm rocksteady or the Lego studio

Microsoft should buy more studios because it secures a studios future from being canned and their games will be on pc as well guaranteed

That Harry Potter game in development and obviously Batman games in general

Mortal Kombat is WB now right? That’d be a huge IP

Microsoft Bahman/Superman exclusive means the next next gen is won by Xbox

Microsoft already has the narrative designer from the Batman games working on Halo.

How do you go from City to Guardians???

He's a new hire. They gave the H5 dude the boot.

Sony only has around 20bn in cash and equivalents on hand. They aren't going to use 1/5 of their entire asset pool to buy a bunch of studios that require a licensing agreement to even be all that useful.

>Phil Spencer in a recent interview said he would love to see NOLF come back
Holy fuck please let it be Microsoft that buys them if it means we get NOLF3.

We're never getting that Superman game user. Video game makers can't figure out how to make him fun to play as

This game will be interesting...

NOLF?

No One Lives Forever.

>wanting NOLF to be rebooted as a shitty modern FPS with regen health, a 2-weapon limit, slow-ass movement and a pozzed tranny as the main character

I trust Monolith to not fuck it up, hell they managed to make Bamham combat not completely awful.

Are they selling the studios separately or as a whole deal?

It's a whole deal most likely. Although some people who talk about this stuff regularly said 4bn is an optimistic fetching price and that they will most likely settle for around 2bn. The main problem for any company buying them would be dealing with the excess staff, if another publisher buys them then they have a bunch of people who work in WB publishing they now have to either find positions for or let go. If a first party buys them then they would probably end up closing down the mobile studios or turning them into a support studio and then would also have to find out what to do with the WB publishing staff.
