It kills me that I agree with you. Star Wars has been my favorite series of all time for my whole life and Disney totally killed it in my eyes, I just don't even care anymore and everything new they put out just looks bad to me. Cringe is exactly it, I physically cringe every time a new Star Wars something is shown and the lead character is some black woman. Black girls do not like Star Wars. I have never met a black person in general who ever liked Star Wars. Worse than that, they have fundamentally missed the mark on tone and style from the start. It all feels smug and cartoonish, like a DreamWorks movie, and that isn't Star Wars. It's utterly soulless now.
