Hiragana only is a fucking pain to fucking read for any adult.

Does simplified have no Kanjis? I'm no professional but I see no Kanjis on the left but plenty on the right

The first few generations of pokemon have hiragana only dialogue because their target audience is literal babies that have barely touched Kanji at all. Eventually gamefreak decided to create an option that makes the text normal.

I wish the post war plan to make the Japs delete kanji had gone through. Imagine using hieroglyphs in 2020.

What version of japanese should i learn to read then

No such thing, it's just hiragana only and kanji, this isn't Chinese you retard.

Left first, then right.

Kana is just simplified kanji

Anybody who thinks deleting Kanji is a good idea is a retarded weeb that doesn't understand how the language works. At that point you might as well force them to use nothing but english since their language will no longer function.

Level 1: Kana only is the best!
Level 2: Kana only is awful!
Level 3: I prefer kanji, but kana only isn't a huge deal.

Which is kinda funny considering the language was once kanji only and kana was optional. There was a push from Japan itself to get rid of kanji or simplify it a bit, or just switch to English after the typewriter was invented.

No it’s not u retard it’s phonetic not ‘simplified kanji’

Japan and China need to switch to romaji and pinyin, respectively. Their writing systems are fucking retarded.

Look at the screenshot, they literally wrote different lines for kid mode and adult mode

China's writing system seems kinda nice from what I know. Saner in ways than Japanese, especially where hanzi is considered. I haven't actually studied it much though because I don't know what I'd ever use Chinese for.

Everyone should speak English.

Okay I'm sure retard on the internet who knows neither language's opinion is extremely important and will be taken under advisement.

How long has it been, boys

imagine unironically complaining about kanji
biggest giveaway that someone is an eop

7 years

Level 4: Kanji is best and Kana only sucks

I didn't know kanji came out of people's mouths when speaking Japanese.

3 years

He's not entirely wrong. Hiragana is derived from parts of kanji.

MARY SAN

They both say the same fucking thing, one is just hiragana only and the other one has kanji. There's no such thing as "simplified" and "traditional" Japanese, that's a Chinese thing and OP is a retard, in game it just asks you if you want hiragana or kanji.

Not really. Only people who make a big fuss about kana only are people are are still early intermediate. I prefer kanji, but at this point, playing kana only games is not much of a bother.

>I haven't actually studied it much though because I don't know what I'd ever use Chinese for.
For the eventual liberation of the working class in which, the People's Republic of China will be supreme.

I have to say furigana is the best of both worlds. It's funny that most games don't use furigana since pretty much every manga and light novel is published with furigana.

Pleb

Based and Kyūjitaipilled.

yes because お話 and 談笑 is the same word. same with 上で and 階上.

With the amount of lines they use for a word they might as well draw a picture of the fucking object in question.

Pleb? For being able to read Japanese easily whether it's kana only or includes kanji? Geez, you guys get jealous easy. You'll get there faster than you think, don't worry.

>The first few generations of pokemon have hiragana only dialogue because their target audience is literal babies
its because the games are rendered at like 40x30 pixels u fucking nigger

>tfw finally got though the basic grammar section of tae kim and I'm 4 lessons into essential grammar
Only took 4 years bros

Seriously though this is so much more than I expected and theres still like 40 more lessons AND all of Tae Kim is supposedly just basic grammar by itself.
This is crazy

It eats up tons of space and is difficult to implement.

There is no problem with Japan's writing system. Yes, children don't know many kanji and require either all kana or furigana to help them read, but that doesn't that kanji should be thrown out. The language would lose so much without kanji and it's really not hard to learn if you READ JAPANESE everyday (stop thinking you'll learn a language via flashcards, you retards. Actually reading Japanese articles and stories is way better for learning kanji and general vocabulary).

8 hours

It's literally inferior in every way I don't get how you're trying to make this some fucking skill level thing. If it wasn't a big deal the option in the OP wouldn't exist and japs wouldn't keep using kana only text for literal retard characters and robots

Anyone who is learning Japanese or plays games in Japanese is a retarded weeb user

Yes, including the actual Japs

1.5 yrs

Why the fuck doesn't the world adopt the Latin alphabet?

Keep your language, your fucking noodle words are outdated. There isnt a single word in any language that can't be Romanized.

International Business has proven that English is the ultimate language, even if it is difficult to learn.

There is no reason for kanji or hanzi to exist. We should have made them all learn romanji instead. I see no benefits of using it apart from tradition.

t. EOP

>romanji

Attached: 1592151888847.png (114x128, 25K)

>romanji
It's romaji, you fucking idiot. You can't even read your own language and yet you want to pass judgment on an entirely different language you know even less about? Ayy

there's 20 japanese words that romanize into the same thing

Well I can see how kana only trips you up that much with your comprehension skills. It IS a skill level thing, I know because I've been there. When you're just starting out, kanji is an extremely frightening thing and kana is easy, so you like kana only. Then you start to get used to kanji, you start to realize how nice it is, how it improves readability. And then you try to read something with no kanji and you get frustrated because there's so little variety in word pronunciations in the language that you aren't sure which of the 100 meanings of し is being used. And then after you get more experienced with the language, that becomes significantly less of an issue because of experience and context. I never said that kana only wasn't inferior, you pulled that straight out of the air.

At this point Kanji is only used to keep out foreigners from living in Japan.

Koreans adapted their own writing system, pushing out Chinese influence.

Japan could easily do the same, they choose to not do so.

Well the Japanese hate change like no other.

There are words with multiple meanings in pretty much every language user.

>all these fucking clueless romaji advocates in this thread

If you don't know how the language works just shut up.

This thread stinks of dekinais

Level 5: I'll just play the Chinese version instead

How do I even begin to learn this absolute puzzle of a language? What is the "right" way so I'm not sabotaging myself? I want to be better, bros...

My Japanese friends disagree with you, but you can try to flex all you want on anonymous imageboard.

Start a textbook, duh

how about trying to study for once?

the real Japanese was the friends we made along the way

>Kana only is a pain to read for any adult
>no it isn't it's just inferior in every way, no biggie if you're as good as me :)
>why are you trying to make this a skill level thing
>It is a skill level thing and kana only in inferior in every way
what is your issue

Read Japanese every day. Look up things you don't know whether it be grammar forms or vocab.
