How good is it?
How good is it?
My favorite zelda
Possibly best dungeons of the series.
Everything else besides soundtrack at times ranges from meh to bad.
it's great if you play either gamecube or wii originals, it's terrible if you play the "remaster" with a whole slew of bullshit tacked onto the experience that used to be a celebration of the great oot experience
pretty good, like ocarina of time but with wolf link. Midna was kinda *cute*. The Wii version had forced motion controls, but like along with MGS, the graphics are still good. 8/10 to many monkeys.
It's bad
the best one in the series hands down
>The Wii version had forced motion controls
it was better for it, people like to shit on the waggle sword swinging, but it was in the bow aiming, fishing, and inventory management that the game shined
Soulless oot
It has 3 good deougeons
It's good, just not great. Feels like it could've been more interesting had they focused more on the stuff that it introduced instead of trying too hard to please OoT fans. Also has best partner/girl in the franchise
Ok zoomer
>linear as fuck and tons of hand-holding
>cringeworthy cutscenes
>little to no innovation, doesn't even improve the formula from the N64 games
>Link isn't even as mobile as in previous games (Wind Waker Link could crouch and hide)
>filler tear segments
>shitty tryhard atmosphere
>too much expository dialogue
>artstyle that aged like milk
>swimming feels awful
>non-existent difficulty even by 3D Zelda standards
>final boss was predictable and boring
>dungeon design is basically on rails
>worst looking bokoblins in the series
>most enemies are beaten in pretty much the same way: look for an opening, rapidly hit the B button until it recovers from the assault and guards again, rinse, repeat
>crappy story, failed to explain anything in a compelling manner
>NPCs are soulless and not engaging, you can't even interact with most people in Castle Town
>worst battle music in the series, which also ruined the midna's lament segment
>barely any sidequests
>basically no interconnected areas except for Lake Hylia
>Death Mountain Area is a fucking line with no branches or secret areas
>item usage was limited
>potions, fairies, upgrades, and the like are useless and offer no variety
>babby tier puzzles (open the door by shooting an obviously placed eye switch, woooow)
>dull soundtrack
>both the overworld and villages are shallow and not dynamic
>no free-roaming, gotta wait for the plot to explore other areas
Just a friendly reminder.
In before Midna ass posting.
Hi
imagine reading all this
>>linear as fuck and tons of hand-holding
where?
>>cringeworthy cutscenes
cutscenese are god tier
>>little to no innovation, doesn't even improve the formula from the N64 games
it didnt need to it refined them
>>Link isn't even as mobile as in previous games (Wind Waker Link could crouch and hide)
gameplay mechanics the game didnt need them
>>filler tear segments
agreed
>>shitty tryhard atmosphere
no the tone was just right
>>too much expository dialogue
eh in thew beginning fuck yes
>>artstyle that aged like milk
also wrong hd remake fixed this
>>swimming feels awful
how?
>>non-existent difficulty even by 3D Zelda standards
agree a little
>>final boss was predictable and boring
so was all the LOZ games end bosses.
>>dungeon design is basically on rails
wrong
>>worst looking bokoblins in the series
they were scary as shit what you mean
>>most enemies are beaten in pretty much the same way: look for an opening, rapidly hit the B button until it recovers from the assault and guards again, rinse, repeat
same with every loz before and after
>>crappy story, failed to explain anything in a compelling manner
wrong
>>NPCs are soulless and not engaging, you can't even interact with most people in Castle Town
some of the best npcs in the series but agree allot were bland
>>worst battle music in the series, which also ruined the midna's lament segment
cringe opinion tw has the best soundtrack
>>barely any sidequests
no need the base game was like 60 hrs or more
>>basically no interconnected areas except for Lake Hylia
teleporter solved that
>>Death Mountain Area is a fucking line with no branches or secret areas
cringe
>>item usage was limited
same with every other LOZ
>>dull soundtrack
best soundtrack in the series
>>both the overworld and villages are shallow and not dynamic
>>no free-roaming, gotta wait for the plot to explore other areas
lots of free roaming areas and hidden secrets
This game turned me into a furfag. I hate it.
TP give this game a pass because of "muh dungeons" which I admit are ok and two that are exceptional. eveything else about this game is shit. wolf link is garbage and waists your time with dumb filler objectives. even after the third dungeon the game waists your time with tedious easy combat having to fight shadow beasts and moblin towers or skull kid for the second time. hell even the dark world is a waste of a opportunity given that instead of a fun game play mechanic like in a link to the past its only a visual difference. The overworld is compactly underwhelming and barren with only a few hairpieces that are thrown into the players face. I dont think TP is bad but not the greatest effort from nintendo
Unironically my favorite Zelda.
>no need the base game was like 60 hrs or more
its a 15 hour game at best without the tedious filler shit
Game had problems, but it is one of my favorite Zelda titles.
>Link isn't even as mobile as in previous games (Wind Waker Link could crouch and hide)
Doesn't really matter since nothing in the game is designed to use those mechanics. That's also ignoring the addition of Wolf Link/Horseback fighting that add more options even if the game does unfortunately underutilize them
>shitty tryhard atmosphere
Aside from the dumb scene after the third dungeon I thought the atmosphere was perfectly fine. It's a shame the game didn't actually have more focus on the actual Twilight world
>swimming feels awful
Swimming worked fine, don't see how it feels awful
>NPCs are soulless and not engaging, you can't even interact with most people in Castle Town
It's about the same as most games in the franchise. There's still quite a good amount of memorable NPCs through out the game
>crappy story, failed to explain anything in a compelling manner
Disagreed. The only real issues I had with the story was how Zelda felt more tacked on than anything and how Link trying to find his friends is more of a secondary thing rather than being his focus. Also Ganon replacing Zant was a shame
A lot of the other points you brought up are more or less a general thing with the franchise in general or just stuff you personally didn't like but that have nothing wrong with them (artstyle, soundtrack)
who the hell complains about filler in video games
no gamer worth their salt want to run through games as fast as possible
Because I like good content TP has a lot of boring shit
TP is filled to the brim with atmospheric epicness
Like what? To me the HD version is the best way to play the game
It's great
Imagine TP being so bad you could write an essay on its flaws. Oh wait, you don't even need to imagine it.
>wrong
Not an argument.
>gameplay mechanics the game didnt need them
Lack of mobility in any game is bad.
>also wrong hd remake fixed this
HD "remake" just made it more obvious.
>they were scary as shit what you mean
Nope, just poorly designed trash mobs.
>same with every loz before and after
Nope.
>some of the best npcs in the series but agree allot were bland
None of them come even close to OoT's, MM's or even WW's NPCs.
>cringe opinion tw has the best soundtrack
Awful taste.
>no need the base game was like 60 hrs or more
No it wasn't, and every Zelda game needs optional content and sidequests.
>teleporter solved that
Teleporter didn't make them more interconnected.
>cringe
Not an argument.
>same with every other LOZ
Outright false.
>lots of free roaming areas and hidden secrets
Not true. TP probably has the least amount of hidden secrets in the series.

6/10
they remove a lot of the twilight filtered which imo made the game timeless from the get go
>on disc DLC
>renders the reward for a lengthy sidequest worthless
>miiverse functionality is intertwined into the game occupying rupee chests, the service is defunct
>wolf sections have content cut right out of the game messing with the plot and exploration in the initial visits
there is a ton of other minor details but all in all the touch up of the graphics arguably make the game worse and the touch pad functionality is needless with motion controls
Its atmosphere and visuals are honestly the most boring In the series
8.8
>A lot of the other points you brought up are more or less a general thing with the franchise in general
Name one game other than OoT as devoid of side content as TP.
OoT 2 with a slower start
GC version is great. Wii and Wii U versions are bad. game is flawed in many ways, but probably the last good 3D zelda game before skyward sword destroyed the whole series
>how good
solid 8/10
