How would you rank the 3D Mario games from best to worst?

You should have to post your age with your list. I'm 29 and have been playing these games since I was a kid.

Here is the objective list of mainline games

64 > Sunshine > Galaxy > Galaxy 2 > Odyssey

64 is the best one, without a doubt. Sunshine is fun but too unpolished, and Galaxy 1 onwards is fun without much substance. 64 is the only one directed by Miyamoto, and it shows

Sunshine was only hated by then-13 year olds to look “cool” for preferring 64. Just like wind waker compared to ocarina of time. (Or majoras mask if you were a hipster). My friends older brothers all acted this way and I guarantee you’re around their age (27-30)

it's basically New Super Mario Bros. but you can move around a little more. Kinda boring. the best parts about it were the 2D art between worlds.

I've always liked 3d Mario, but I never loved it until 3d Land. IMO 2D Mario has always been where the fun is at which is why I loved 3d Land and World so much. Odyssey was very similar to that in many ways while tweaking the 64/Sunshine formula in a way that I really enjoyed.
I liked both Galaxy games when they came out and I even completed both 100%, but under certain circumstances Mario's controls will glitch out and that's something that I absolutely cannot stand. There are other reasons why I don't enjoy the Galaxy games a whole lot, but I don't feel like writing an essay.

i was wanting to replay galaxy and galaxy 2, since i haven't played the former since 2015, and the last time i played the latter was at christmas time of 2018.

Sunshine is the best, but 64 is retarded fun to speedrun, the rest of them don't really matter.

Galaxy 2 > sunshine > galaxy 1 > 64 > 3dl > 3dw

Dont have a switch but the demos ive played of oddyssey at best buy and shit were very boring. Just a flat empty space with nothing to do but walk

The most important thing is how Mario controls
1. Sunshine (tightest controls)
2. Odyssey (satisfying momentum)
3. 64
4. 3D Land (fully analog, though jump is a bit floaty)
5. 3D World (8 directional movement thanks to accommodating the Wii remote, nerfed most alternate jumps like spin and long jump)
6. Galaxies (slowest Mario, no momentum, floatiest jumps, least varied movest)

Sunshine > 64 > Odyssey

The rest are so shit I refuse to acknowledge their existence.

dunno how you put 3D land/world above anything, when both have like 16 way movement, with all the movement options being nuetered down to the point where they barely matter at all.

Because Mario can pull off more moves at a quicker pace and he has methods of obtaining even slight momentum increase, unlike Galaxy where you can't even roll and even the backflip has a more rigid arc.
