Why do people like this game again? As a life-long Mario fan, I hated it when it came out in 2002, I hated it when I revisited it ten years ago, and I still hate it after revisiting it today. What's there to like? There's not a single redeeming quality here.

Movement is fun if you don't tard out with fludd and lose all momentum
Because it's the best
Movement in this game is a downgrade from Mario 64.
I really like using the fludd for platforming, but the camera issues can get annoying at times.
For the remasters....they should fix the camera and make sure its lock 60fps and there were a better experience.
>Guaranteed replies
You just put all your cards on the table that you're completely beyond reasoning with and you expect someone to come here and explain to you what's good about this game as if you're not just going to deflect everything?
Only thing it's missing is crouch, no one punched, and the backflip is used by Hard press R + juump
Movement is miles better, walljump actually works, don't be a retard
Too many gaycube trannies on here, go back.
The somersault is much easier and faster to do in Sunshine.
Only slightly, and level design makes up for that, unlike Galaxy games.
Better question is why do people like galaxy over this?
It's fun to play
It's the weakest 3D Mario but I still think it's pretty good
The walljump was way better in 64 you colossal fucking tard
>Only slightly, and level design makes up for that, unlike Galaxy games
What the fuck am I reading?
You do understand that something can be relatively worse than another thing, yet still be good in an absolute sense, right?
Because ALL OF THE DAY BRO!
Galaxy stages require the bare minimum of maneuvers to navigate. It doesn't make use at all of any of the advanced tools Mario has.
On top of that, the levels are also too linear for players to make up for it by using the tools for shortcuts.
>walljump actually works
It's worse than in 64. In 64, no matter what angle you hit the wall, you'll always bounce in the opposite direction of the wall itself. In Sunshine, you will bounce in the opposite direction you jumped. I've died so many times from wall jumping because my angle was slightly off.
Tightly constructed levels vs more open-ended levels. They're completely different design philosophies.
It has the best atmosphere of any 2D Mario game. Hotel Delfino has never been topped
Movement is fun in some areas, but for the most part it's tedious. The movement can be fun, like if you're jumping around rooftops in the hub world. Trying to have fun with the movement just kills you or wastes your time in the actual levels. That doesn't translate to a fun game, even if it has "fun movement".
lmao no.
Sunshine has some tightly constructed levels too.
And quess what? They are 10 times better than anything in the Galaxy games.
I always felt like the Galaxy games were more of a continuation of the 2D games than 3D. Lots of short, linear challenges instead of a few non-linear stages.
Yes, and the former is bad
One of the best movement in a 3D plataformer to date and the main shines are decent overall
Did you not like Super Mario World either?
Controls are Good and the setting basicly
and that it was probably the most Different mario game that there ever was and probably won't ever get another one while actually having a story thats linked to luigi's mansion
Why do people suck the secret stages dick so hard? They were hardly a highlight for me. Like a good majority of them are janky broken bullshit like the chucksters, the pachinko machine and the leaf sewer.
Personally I like how each level feels natural to the world around it rather than a generic ice level, desert level, fire level, etc
>small village connected to the plaza
>a harbor
>an amusement park
>a haunted hotel
>a beachside bar area
>another village with a day/night cycle
>ancient waterfall ruins area
etc
Better level design and more variety
>Not changing direction via spinjumping
This pleb
the level design is a downgrade when coming from 64.
the linear challanges were also surpassed with the course based games.
sunshine hands down has the weakest level design out of any 3D mario.
based
Just because you can't complete them doesn't make them bad, shitter
>There's not a single redeeming quality here.
You didn't even like the music?
There is literally NOTHING on this board I hate more than Sunshinefags. I can smell them from behind my monitor, they stink of pretentiousness, of faggotry. You just know that they think they're doing their due diligence as epic Zig Forumscore "Gaymurs" by picking the obscure Mario title on their least popular system to boost their fragile Nintendobabby egos.
>64? Too ubiquitous!
>Galaxy 1 and 2? It's on the Wii, it's casual!
It's embarrassing the mental gymnastics that these retards go through to justify their edgy opinions, Sunshine is simply the worst 3D Mario.
>B-b-b-ut muh aesthetic, muh comfy!
"No". It looks like a music video directed by McG, the saturation is ugly, the camera is wonky and unresponsive. The level design? Simply abhorrent, repetitive and creatively bankrupt. The blue coins are a tedious fetch quest that have little bearing on the levels. The levels themselves, either too big or too vertical.
>B-b-b-ut muh music
Acapella is for fedora wearing retards and the tropical shit is trite. Galaxy and 3D World are far better in regards to music and if you suggest otherwise, you are being willfully ignorant or are completely aesthetically challenged.
>Whatever man, just like lay off and let me have my opinion
You FUCKING FAGGOTS have gone on too long without being challenged on your like for this piece of shit game. You revel in this title's mediocrity like a badge of honour.
Is the story linked aside from some stray references? I haven't played Luigi's Mansion. I've found one NPC that references the game so far (in the hotel, a janitor says something about wishing he had a vacuum to suck up the ghosts)
In your desperate attempt to figth cognitive dissonance, you assume people are praising pachinko and chuksters?
This is exactly the reasonless deflection I said would be coming.
DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Here is (you)r (you)
>comfy
>world design is amazing it has an actual living world
>10/10 OST better than anyother mario with its theming alone
>great movement very... fluid.
>fun boss fights
its only real negative is its not fun to replay its better than galaxy though.
youtube.com
Perhaps I was being hyperbolic. I do admit the music is nice. I also like the visual style. But those things don't really matter if the gameplay is ass.
It's alright user, you can have the wrong opinion and get angry about it
Now that the kid is asleep, anyone wanna play something?
The level design is way better than 64. The levels are all plainly bigger and much more well featured.
It's not a contest until you start making up non-existent bullshit like "soul" or something.
Fludd is actually made By Egad and theres some other stuff which i snipped into this img
Better than 64, 3D World and Odyssey
>tfw you will never live on Delfino Island going to comfy serana beach for the late nights or Pinna Park during the day
God I want to die give me a reason not to blow my brains out right now.
I love how Galaxy and Odyssey both of Sunshine like stages yet they come NOWHERE near the same levels of comfy they only conjure up the feels that Sunshine has.
You're a fag who probably unironically likes Galaxy. The worst Mario controlled game of all time
what were the sunshine isles?
