how the hell do people not like this
How the hell do people not like this
Because they value their emotional reaction to a plot twist over good game design
i like it
I absolutely loved, and that's coming from someone who replays the first game every year.
I can imagine some people getting tired from defending little sisters and then fighting big sisters again and again. Personally I don't mind it. Overall it's an improvement except maybe in story.
I loved the ending I got and having to get the key off sinclair was heartbreaking
yeah thats the only bit I could see not liking really. towards the end I just rescued and instantly put them back in the vent cus I cba waiting for them to harvest adam from corpses
I absolutely love it. I replay it and Bioshock 1 every couple years.
After putting hundreds of hours into both I can confirm that Bioshock 2 is objectively better gameplay-wise. More options for weapons and powers, better AI, better level design, hacking that's actually fun, etc.
Story doesn't have as many surprises as Bioshock 1, but it's got heart and genuinely made me care about at least a couple of the characters. After replaying these games a lot I value the fact that 2's characters are likable and fun to be around over 1's twist.
I have no fucking idea. The sheer amount of gameplay improvements over the first one are too big a factor to ignore. 1 had the better atmosphere but I feel without the twist more people would prefer 2 over 1. 2 is just so much better and the best game in the series.
Eleanor >>> Elizabeth
this
best game in the series only reason bioshock infinite even got GOTY/CENTURY status is because of elizabeth not a great charcter even shes just a disney princess that people wanna fuck Literally infinte is the Overwatch of the series started out decent dev team fucked over and reworked shit now only relevant because of a program called SFM
Daddy simulator + Drill charging faggots is the best
>Character who actually has an impact on the combat sandbox and changes her attitude based on your choices throughout the game
>Ammo dispenser who fades from existence whenever the game exits cutscene mode
The fact Infinite got praised so much over 2 despite being objectively worse still baffles me
>Elizabeth's (and Infinite's) entire legacy is SFM porn with bigger titties than her original trailer models
>the much smaller amount of Eleanor fan images is 99% wholesome
Say what you will about the story but I played hours upon hours of the multiplayer while using that 360 feature that let you play your own music from the HDD while playing games. Fun shit
I just hope the series can get back to what made it good with Bioshock 4. Though judging by the Infinite-like branding of the teaser website it seems like they're sticking with that direction unfortunately.
If I didn't know better I'd say I'm reading my own post.
This, the multiplayer while tacked on to meet a publisher demand, was genuinely fun. Capture The Little Sister seemed gruelling though in my memory. Being able to hack machines, take photos, made the gameplay that much more unique.
The premise was a lazy cynical cash grab born from an executive that saw dollar signs after bioshock 1, but it somehow turned out good.
>broken crossbow-electro
No, fuck that.
because it's retarded cringe. the first game was acceptable though
Yeah the photography mechanic was great, it offered enough incentive to encourage you to vary your combat but wasn't so intrusive/laborious that it became a chore.
started playing it for the first time today, and im really enjoying it, the early parts with you having to defend the little sister as she gets adam is meh but other wise mostly everything else is pretty fucking good
It's great, but I prefer 1 over 2.
2 felt more "arcadey" if that makes any sense.
I'm trying to make my wat through Bioshock so I can replay 2. It's always a slog, but I find myself compelled to.
>Not using the freeze elephant gun combo
Bioshock 2 is kind of a mixed bag. It had a worse plot than BS1, was too derivative and was not too advanced graphics-wise from its predecessor.
However, it got the gameplay right, had better moral choices (though some of them made absolutely no sense (killing Alex is evil despite him begging you to do it)) and the pre-release mystery event is superb.
All in all, it's the best of the Bioshock trilogy which is a testament to how mediocre the series is.
The only thing I don’t like about Bioshock 2 is that it is too easy, even when I’m not using Vita Chambers and when I’m intentionally playing sloppy with my ammo.
But the intro cinematic alone is enough to pair Bond me with Eleanor more than any other female character in games OTHER than Jenny from The Darkness.
Most people who prefer the other two are normies who only play through series once and so the story seems better in those games than they actually are the first time through.
I don't get the people who say that Bioshock 1 was better. Outside of the plot twist, the story really wasn't that special.
That first Big Sister fight on hard difficulty is still one of the toughest encounters I can remember, like trying to fight the first Big Daddy in 1 without getting the grenade launcher first. But then you fight more and they only get easier from there.
I have to say that Andrew Ryan is the best character in the franchise and I say that as someone who likes Sofia Lamb a lot.
10/10 best daughter
Is it true that Ken Levine was so butthurt that a no-name in-house developer did a better job with his series that he made Burial at Sea just to retcon it?
Bioshock 1's story and setting were genuinely good. The second one's were underwhelming, to say the least.
After years of degeneration and disrepair, the only thing that happens in Rapture is a single cult popping up.
He can hide behind the excuse that he was simply not acknowledging the events of the game instead of actively undermining them, but we all know that faggot was doing it intentionally.
Don't know about that, desu, but from the looks of it it was his attempt to please the audience after the shitpile that was Infinite.
Him fucking up the story by shoehorning his waifu into Rapture's storyline and going "Remember that cool thing in Bioshock that was explained in the same game? LOL IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED BECAUSE OF TEARS AND ELIZABETH" was yet another attempt to appear smarter than he really is.
I will confess
I liked the multiplayer.
