Snap should have been integrated in to a mainline game properly by this gen. A lot should have been present in pokemon games by this point.
A game where you're on rails just watching scenes play out and taking screenshots should definitely look better than most games.

I don't mind Snap being its own thing since doing it properly in a mainline game would take a lot of resources away from more important things to focus on, though it's not like they've done that well in Sword and Shield anyway. Something simple like the photo areas in Sun and Moon would be fine, but they took away even those.

I'm speaking with the expectation that gamefreak actually made good games. The mainline games, by now, should be considerably better and something like snap should definitely be present in them by now as an activity. Obviously with the current standard of pokemon games I don't really want to see them attempting to do much more than improve whatever the fuck it is they're trying to do with Sword/Shield

I'm kinda surprised it's a completely new game and not a remake since Snap was a one-off from twenty years ago while the most successful Pokémon spinoff, Mystery Dungeon, has only got a remake on Switch so far. They're putting faith in it.
