Not defending the story of this game (I found it horrible too) but you're delusional if you think that this game won't be a fantastic success for Sony. It's already the highest rated PlayStation exclusive.

Shills already damage controlling, TLOU1’s user score dropped 30 spots already after the leaks. By the time TLOU2 is out everyone will have turned on the original game as well, TLOU2 will have the lowest user scores ever before Sony removes them.
Games should make you feel through the ludonarrative, not through the narrative. These video game critics are terrible for the medium. If they want to talk about narrative, then go become film critics. Games are not films, and stop trying to make them into films.
Jurassic World made a gazillion at the box office and it's widely considered a forgettable piece of shit. The reason I brought it up was because it was briefly in my memory when I zapped past it on TV.
A similar fate will befall this game. People won't want to revisit it in the future because it's misery and dreck, and unsatisfying and illogical.

The last Jedi was the most important case study when looking at how the modern age deals with flops. Although it will be an immediate success due to its brand name and high critic scores the backlash will be detrimental to everything that comes out after this. I think Neil druckman is a lot like Rian Johnson in the behind the scenes for the last Jedi. Boldly talking about how he wants to piss off the fans while also claiming the franchise will go on forever and never stop being a success. I’m happy for Neil that he was able to make his game but he can’t expect to make a game that will offend half its audience and expect them to want to buy more naughty dog games after this.
