As always, i'm playing dawn of war: firestorm over kaurava. The autists that made this mod somehow nailed the best feeling of gun power and melee strength that i've seen in a game.
It's fantastic to see and hear the heavy bolters blasting through infantry and then see unit explode for the bolter rounds, and later seeing that no matter how many bullets they fire, that heavy bolter is unable to penetrate the armor of a Baneblade. To see lascannons punching through armor and sometimes going through it, or moving the landrider while it fires to see the laser "slash" the enemy. To absolutely destroy a land raider with a power fist and a melta bomb.
The assault marines going upwards and the crashing down on the enemy, and then see the units actually "lock" in close combat, it's something difficult to describe as not even the unmodded game does it as this mod. To have the units move both lightly and with a tremendous weight on them. To see how things like armor, accuracy, damage, fire rate and armor penetration matter. To see that even one flamer in a squad can make a world of difference.
This mod is unbelievable, and i cannot get enough of it. It's a shame that it's accomplishments will be forgotten, as even most DoW players prefer the UA mod, that only adds units.

Does that mod keep some sort of campaign play? One of my favourite mods - titanium wars - keeps the campaign intact so I can do more than a million skirmishes.
