We were at Best Buy; my mom told me I could pick out a game for my birthday. They didn't have the one I wanted - but I had to make a decision before we left, so I picked this.

All these years later, I yearn so painfully for the feeling of playing this game for the first time in the living room on a weekend afternoon.

Let's do it!

Something tells me you want "novelty" not "this game". But you're not giving other games the chance.

Something tells me you let your brain go off on "unsubstantiated tangents" rather than "relevant dialogue". But you're not giving other frames of reference the chance.

Something tells me you're an asperger that thinks his point is the only point.

This game was trash. I did come with a FF8 demo tho.

I masturbate to FF8 too!

Haha, I still have this game.
Now if only the PS5 can play it... fuck...

WOAH, JUMP!

Just gonna weigh in on this one here, you definitely seem about a thousand times more autistic than the other guy. At least his posts had the benefit of being remotely about video games. You're in fuckin space right now buddy.

>"novelty" not "this game"

I don't even have my original copy anymore - makes me really wonder what happened to all my old stuff.. What did I do with all my old systems and games? I can't even remember.. I used to have so much crap but now I have nothing but adult shit everywhere.

I’ve never thrown out or sold anything, I knew since I was around 6 I want to collect games and around 12 that I want the Japanese versions after reading in magazines about all the censorship and localization changes.

The adult in me just cringed so hard; the child in me is tearfully envious.

"I can't enjoy video games anymore"
"I wonder why."
"REEEEEEEEE"

Are you on medication? Your posts are dishonorable. Whatever, please be relevant, shut up, or leave the thread.. Thanks.

Had a demo of this game as a kid in playstation underground, played it probably a hundred times but didn't end up actually finding a copy of the game until like a decade later. Didn't get around to actually beating it until last year, aside from a few segments and the super anticlimactic ending cutscenes it was absolutely fantastic, easily one of the best adventure games I've played.

Agreed. Let's jam buddy:

Right. The topic. How can OP fix his depression.
Oh. But we're not allowed to talk about OP directly because you might hurt his opinions by saying something "wrong"

Hm. Okay, I recant.

I need to play this game again sometime. I remember it being amazing, loved the day/night cycle.

What's the newest game you played.
Did you go into it with no expectations like this? Did you give yourself the time and space to play it?

I think the music has a lot to do with why this game is so memorable for those who played it.

How did Tsuyoshi Sekito manage to nail every single song to fit with what you were doing? From techno style music of the thirstquencher empire to exploring the mines. From fighting the ice dragon to fighting the vambees. Every piece of music just really put you in the moment.

Brave Fencer Musashi was based. Last game that gave me that child like sense of wonder was Wonderful 101.

Twin Peak Mountain theme will forever be stuck in my head along with The Musashi Legend theme. Got the game for the FF8 demo and ended up liking BFM more. P.S. fuck Nomura

this game is so underrated. i rented it back then as a kid too, just for the demo. and the game itself turned out to be pretty godlike. got to just the end before i had to return it by the last day, but didnt get to beat it, if i remember correctly.

Looks like you now have a homework assignment for the weekend.

Let's do it!

it's his fucking thread, so his point automatically IS more important than the fucking crap you're trying to force
if you don't like his point then get out of here, you retarded fuckface

Brave Fencer Musashi is one of my favourite games of all time. I remember being a kid and every summer my dad would take my sister and I up to my grandma's cottage for like the entire month of July. Since my parents were divorced my PS1 stayed at my dad's and I would always grab it before we left his house. I have this snapshot memory of playing it on a tiny black and white TV on the screened-in porch around dusk while thunderclouds were building up on the horizon.
To this day playing it always makes me think of school being out, freedom, and those summers. If only I knew how good those days were, I would have appreciated them more

I have BFM's soundtrack on my phone with literally zero regrets. Every track is fantastic

>underrated
It sold almost 700,000 copies in 1998, and the game came out July that year so that’s a pretty decent number.
I’m not sure how it sold outside Japan though

Great post, reddit. Upvoted.

The whole stealing the enemies powers with your sword felt a lot more fresh before I discovered Kirby. The action figure collecting thing was fucking fun though and so was the town having actual schedules and day and night changes.
