Be honest Zig Forums, do you care?

Yeah it's neat even if it's just a compilation of freeware tier games with a bit more polish on presentation.
I don't need too much to be entertained.

Im actually interested in this but im not sure if its worth full price. Sucks that its not a part of the sale.

it is absolutely not. online play is barely functional and i would cull most of the arcade games for more card games as the selection they have is generally lacking. you can't even play most of them locally.

play mahjong

this, i pretty much just bought it to have a decent riichi mahjong client on switch

the poker sucks ass though with its maximum bets, and everything else is kind of slow-paced, but it's fun

Just considering the nature of digital table games the 40 dollars price tag is absurd. It should be 20 or 15 dollars if generous but honestly the best case scenario would be having it free for Nintendo Switch online members. People would actually care then

Damn, kind of a shame. Thanks for the heads up user.

>being excited for turn based games
unironically cringe

I've not had a single issue with my online

Buy a nice Go board, way more fun.

Its fucking dead, takes forever to find anyone and my favorite game was butchered.

pretty much defines Nintendo Fandom to a T

>and my favorite game was butchered.
Billiards or poker?

it's good as a tool to learn a bunch of games that you might not know and never had the chance to learn.
Some games are better in the collection than others. A lot of these games I never touched, or only played variations of, so it was worth it for me. It's not like Wii Sports like people kept hyping it, it's just a collection of simple tabletop games and some other arcadey stuff reminiscent of Mario Party minigames

The game is decent, but the approach is too superficial and many of the games are not complex enough to kill much time. And even when they are complex, Nintendo seems to have tried to casualize the experience, like they did with Texas Hold'em.
The Artificial intelligence is pure shit. In Hare and Hounds, for example, it is possible to win 100% of the time even with the hounds, just by repeating the same movements until the AI misses on purpose (it misses from time to time to give the player a chance, which in stupid games like Hare and Hounds totally breaks the challenge).
I haven't played the most complex games yet to see how AI behaves. But if it remains so predictable that it is possible to discover how to exploit it so easily even in the "impossible" difficulty, then the single player will be extremely disappointing.

>cull most of the arcade games for more card games
It's pretty funny how the original had the exact opposite problem.

poker, hold em to be specific.

Yeah, they really fucked up poker

I think they did it to make it more appealing to children.

I bought it on day 1, no regrets. I like to get stoned and play with my gf

Does it have netplay for mahjong?

Yes

I've been enjoying it so far, going to use it eventually to get my mom into board games and in the meanwhile I've just been getting the mastered achievements.

Fuck those 4 player card games though, i know its probably not much different in real life but i swear winning those is just 90% rng.

Holy fuck, those graphics are amazing!

Been teaching myself riichi mahjong with it. I think my retarded ass is finally starting to understand it

For me it's a good palette cleanser game when I get tired of the main thing I'm playing. Or a quick way to kill 10-30 minutes. I use Tetris 99 for the same purpose. Probably not worth full price, though, unless you plan to play it with friends.

Is there any point to melds? It seems like the CPUs on Hard and above never make the calls and always go for Riichi.

Melding absolutely has a point, but you need a good reason to do it. Closed hands are just a good default since they tend to be worth more points, are harder to defend against, and give you more defense options too if you need to fold (assuming you didn't riichi yet).

Reasons to meld would be making big yaku like full flushes or daisangen, cashing in a fast win when you have a lot of dora, ending the game quickly with fast cheap hands when you have a huge lead, winning against someone's riichi with a call or two when you can do it safely, etc.

I want more games

>Yahtzee and Tanks arbitrarily limited to 2 players
>bunch of games not playable on TV mode for absolutely no reason
>Online sucks dick
Why did they ruin it, at least I have a high polish spider solitaire

I want them to fix the ones that are in there first

yeah it's pretty fun
like to just play a round of curling or backgammon here and there

Go for a meld if it helps you make a big yaku. If you have a shit hand just keep it closed for riichi.
