Phantasy Star IV
user, are you a retard?
If only Xenosaga had likable characters, and was allowed to expand to the point they tried. It -could- have gotten near it. When the gears references get stronger in the last game it gives me serious shivers down my spine. The pacing in Saga really struggles as well. I've owned Saga 1 for farrrr longer than I owned gears, and couldn't beat it once because it meanders on some boring stuff. Meanwhile when I got Gears in uni, I've already plowed through it nearly 4 times. It would need to be an RPG with as much buildup. I just wish Gears didn't name drop so much stuff so it'd be seen as a little more subtle.
People say stuff like Planescape, and I'd be willing to try it but the presentation really hurts. I love how Gears is this great anime mix. Second disk is also amazing to me, because I like how fucked up it becomes and how it zooms out to such a big scale. Feels like the last two eps of Eva, which I loved.
Remake in Blade engine when??? If Square can't put out FFVIIR on the Switch, why not invest in a Square/Nintendo remake for that handheld? Just make it so it's more grounded than the anime stuff in Blade 2.
>are you a retard?
Xenoblade Chronicles is so much better. Only the most morbidly obese fedora tippers prefer Xenogears.
Any of them that are actually finished
Lmao, it's definitely up to taste at that point. Blade is certainly up there, but feels wayyy to YA for me. The aesthetic and the gameplay are also up to taste. Xenoblade (fuck throwing on Chronicles to the name, pure YA pandering to make it like Harry Potter) is also way to bogged down by the terrible number of sidequests. Xenogears just needed some more room to breathe.
they can't
>posts the worst of them
What if I liked both?
FFVI unironically
That would imply Xenogears ever topped anything to begin with.
They were shit movies
>try the new update for the retranslation of the 1st game
The dungeon crawling aspect is just so tedious now I don't think I'll finish it.
>Episodic RPGs
glgftt
How do we stop the YA influences on JRPG?
no

Wow just when I was thinking this thread couldnt get more retarded.
Drink bleach... lots of it
It's subtle stuff man like the character designs and whatnot. I'm gonna sound like an edgelord, but Gears goes almost too far at times. Like, a remake would probably recieve an M rating. As long as they allow the plot to move along uncensored, it's fine. Problem is, aspects of Gears are too grounded in visual design for most kids who want cool giant swords and shit, and the 12-14 crowd wouldn't understand the density of what's going on. Gears would probably be chopped up into pieces to appeal to them. You can really see how something like Saga and Gears were designed for 16 and up, while the Blade games (maybe minus X), were aimed at 12-14 year olds.
Actual faggot, holy shit.
leave it to a faggot to post about topping

You don't sound like and edgelord, you're just an average retard who thinks giant robots, some gore and some nude sprites are daring and mature.
How did they get away with a T rating, Zig Forumsros?
>have brothers copy of 1 in my house
>it goes for about $100
>2 and 3 are like $250 each
