is this game just planetes?

Isn't just a tutorial demo out?

no the EA game is out. been playing it for hours

I only watched like 2 episodes of that animu, I think it's similar yeah

nani, kore?

Is there a demo? I can't find one on the steam page

Is there any way to change the song? Like different radio stations? It gets tiring after a while.

didnt see VR in the planned features
that's a little dissapointing
i want to use this piece of shit headset for something

I'm buying Star Wars Squadrons solely for the fact that it can be played entirely in VR.

oh really?
cool thanks, i guess i'll get that

The only thing holding this back is the mandatory time limit, which that were just a optional mode.

Someone give me a quick rundown, because I've been wanting to play a game that lets you salvage space wrecks since Star Citizen was announced in like 2012. Do you just teleport to a wreck when you take a contract and start salvaging, or do you fly around in your own ship and sort of freelance about?

I always wanted a game where you flew around on a small ship out in space and explored distant, derelict vessels in space with a hardsuit on, looting illicit tech to upgrade your shitty civilian craft and melting down the rest to recycle for scrap material.

there is free play, if you go on the forums it seems the player base is against the time limit, and tehy are already saying theyre talking about it.

you have to fly around manually, it has 6 degrees of freedom controls with rotation, you use a gmod type gravity gun to throw pieces into certain collectors after cutting the ship apart manually. its pretty involved/complex. there are dangerous parts, more complex ships that require procedures like burning the fuel off before cutting, etc

Fun for about 20 minutes, you have to separate ships into 3 different bits and send them off to their designated area, freemode is more fun as you can mess with the explosions and venting air and the main game gives you 15 minutes to chop the ships which isn't as fun.

Very nice visually but takes a while to get used to the space movements and tethering. (there is also a cracked version out already so save your money and play that)

How long is the game right now?

The time limit is there to keep a challenge to the game. The slower you do it, the more times you're charged the daily fees etc. You should still make a profit every day, just less so if you're slower.

Just got to my first second ship, the Gecko I think.

Holy shit, what a jump. I don't even know where to start with this fucking beast.

The time limit is literally irrelevant. Just take more shifts. There is zero rewards at the moment for paying off your debt.

It's not a challenge being against the clock it just removes the comfy factor

Not sure how many people are aware because it isn't made clear - the number of days listed by a ship in the ship catalog is the number of days that advert is available for selection, not the number of days you're allowed to use to take the ship apart.
You're allowed to use as many days as you want to take a ship apart once you've accepted a contract, however obviously you'll incur the daily fees every day so you'll make more money for doing it in less time.
If you think of it this way, the timer is way less of a stressor than it is a way to reward efficiency.

>time limit
I was interested until I heard this. Fuck that shit. I have no patience for time limit shit. I wanna explore the big spooky abandoned ships and have fun at my own pace.

Wake me up when there is a mode without a time limit. Or a cheat to disable it.

Only idiots buy early access shit.

15 hours is the developers estimate (they are aiming at 40), which I think it fits but you'll be seeing a lot of similar ships inside that timeframe. It will get a lot better when they add at least 2 more ships.

I made the reactor explode

>tether half the ship into the processor as you cant be arsed breaking every panel off with the cutter
Needs to be an easier way chop for the furnace

Well for one there's a free mode, so not sure why there's any complaint anyway, but having the timer there allows reward for being more efficient. You lose nothing besides a bit of extra money that you have to spend on another day's worth of fees.

Imagine not playing games like Factorio because of autism.

There literally is a free mode but you can also get it for free so why not test it out

There's already a free mode without a time limit, and a mod to adjust it.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this game.

How are you anons liking it so far? I'm tempted to get it.

But 15 minutes is a joke anyway, I've played the game and the timer is the worst bit about it, and it seems to be the main gripe of many others

I'm really enjoying it. It really needs more hardpoint variety and more ship variety, but it only got released to EA two days ago.

Just to mention, it is made by the devs of Homeworld, so the ships have a very similar aesthetic (tho not direct ship models as it's a brand new IP, apparently.)

I don't understand the issue with the timer tho. It has no gameplay implications. Would you be happy if it just charged you the fees every 15 mins but you didn't have to go back to the HAB?

>don't vent airlock properly chopping ship
>ignore mission thinking it will just let me finish up
>finish up and try to end shift
>can't as it says finish current objective
Remember to always vent, going to just dump the ship in the furnace when I play again

Not him and I don't mind the timer but yes, that would be a much better way to handle it. I also think the devs are looking at it in a wrong way, if you want players to be happier then you reward them for good performance, not punish them for not being optimal. That way you can keep going with the theme of doing the job as fast as possible while also pleasing the "comfy crowd".

If you closed the game I'm pretty sure the barge will be cleared out once you load the file again.

How many types of ships are there right now?

If there was some time penalty that was taken into account at the end I wouldn't mind as much, but when I want to separate each piece of material like a true autist I don't want to worry about my 15 minute shift

>get it for free
Where?
There are no torrents up.

Looks cool but it seems like something that would get old fast.
I still regret buying car mechanic simulator and I don't want to make that mistake again.

Elite Dangerous

Sure, but that's on you. If you aren't as efficient as possible then you won't get rewarded as much. There's a free mode where you can be autistic as much as you want.

Having them come away with more money literally is rewarding them for good performance tho.

Just 2 right now, tho they're outfitted differently between each job.

Look around there are a couple, don't open the dodgy rar from the Russian link though it's a trojan

Fun for a couple of hours, but, really needs more variety of ships and tools.

Tethering is fun but agree, once you do all the ships there's nothing else to do, also I lost half my ship once as if floated into the furnace as I was breaking down the other half

Just a thought - I wonder if varied job types would help the timer averse autists. Maybe have some missions be those where you're on timed shifts/fees deducted every 15-20 mins where efficiency is key, but also have missions where you have a minimum % of ship that has to be sent to the right terminal, i.e. "95% of the ship needs to be recycled by the correct method" and have that have a much more relaxed/no time limit.

Also, reminder that if you buy most of your equipment, the 15 minutes limit is even more meaningless due to your loan rates disappearing.

All TPB mirrors/copy cats return 0 results for 'shipbreaker' and 'hardspace'

Inb4 get a private tracker, not all of us are blessed with knowing people to give invites, and my upload speed is too shit to keep any sort of ratio.

Yeah but I read that it's like 15 minutes of gampelay.

Good idea tbf

I honestly wish there was a massive online space sim with space flight and this kind of destruction in pvp pve

>pvp
nah.
this kind of thing would do incredibly poorly in pvp as people would just abuse whatever blows up fast enough. wouldnt even be any point in having a ship at that point

This yard has worked __ shifts without an accident

I'm on my phone rn, if there's a thread up tomoz I'll post the link

>early access
Aww man, I was looking forward to this.

When I originally saw the trailers for this I expected some spooky horror piece to the game like finding aliens or finding recordings of people who used to inhabit the ships. Really missed the ball on this one if it's just autistic breaking apart of ships.

If you implemented shields and auto turrets (so people wouldn't just approach in a suit and chop your ship to death) I'd back it. Doubt anything like that will be in the near future of games though

Better idea: you stop being a cancerous phoneposter, and post the link anyway.

There are audio logs that you can find, at least one of them is pretty creepy.
