Not him but my guess is that some major part of the game bears too much resemblance to one of the many retarded things america or china has done recently and they need time to remove it and rework the game without it.
My hopes for cp2077 kind of died when I saw all the hype it was getting. The hype train never has a good outcome, partially because people expect way too much as a result of all the rabid hyping and partially because those expectations cause studios to bend. Now that they're in the limelight, they're standing in the middle of a minefield and I think it's more likely they're going to take the safe route out

After the success of Witcher 3 the CEO became a greedy fuck. They've been gobbling up mobile game studios and shitting out card games. They expanded so quick that a lot of their employees now are questionable at best. The original vision of Cyberpunk has been abandoned and also the subsequent visions so many time it's not even close to the original. The original team has been dissolved. They've also been trying to use viral marketing by pandering to social justice for quite some time now, possibly indicating they don't have anything better to do. As of right now the best you can expect from this game is a generic shooter with "edginess" being its main selling point.
