Leggings were a mistake
the lynel is the only good enemy in the game. The rest you can stunlock with the heavy two handed weapons just by timing out your button presses a little. Combat is a joke, and the weapon durability just makes you avoid it.
honestly wish there were more effective ways to use the gadgets. the bombs dropping off and doing no damage to any enemy above red quality like 20% of the way into the game was a real bummer.
shouldve made it so your weapon durability increases with each divine beast. at the beginning weapon durability is a really fun mechanic since it forces you to experiment with different weapons and strategies; by the time you get to even one divine beast you've likely already found strategies and weapons you're comfortable using, so the durability system becomes awkward. making your durability go up with each beast lets you have more fun using what you know, and even lets you permanently switch up your weapons and strategies if you ever get bored of what you're currently using. this design would keep the spirit of experimentation while also making it more fun and accessible.

If you had to remove breakable weapons, there should still be a rewarding system for exploitation and finding new weapons. For instance, if you found a second copy of a weapon you already had, you can consume it to forge a stronger version. Maybe make weapons go temporarily dull when overused but never break completely.

4. You needed to do 4 shrines for a full heart, and you needed to get 4 pieces of heart in every other zelda game to increase your health. BOTW has a lot of shitty parts but this complaint is fucking stupid.

Which is exactly what you should be doing, alongside with other strategies, such as using stealth to ensure sneak-attacks / just go past pointless encounters, use Bows more often, exploit the weapon's breaking points for massive damage, set up traps / create makeshift "weapons" using your Sheika tools and elemental weapons/arrows, harness the powers of the nature itself (ie. weather effects) to even the odds ... etc.
Not to mention unless you only played the game for 5 minutes, you can quickly fill your arsenal with Endurance++ gear that could take out an entire level 2-3 Bokoblin camp and not even get a low durability warning.
my hot take is that there shouldnt have been enemy weapon drops or durability at all and instead a master sword that can switch between the three major melee weapon types as modes instead (1H, 2H, spear, bow, boomerang)

lynel combat once you know what to do becomes the most stale thing in the world. At least with regular enemies you can do a bunch of stupid shit like use environmental hazards, but there's nothing special you can really do with lynels.
Either you steamroll them with powerful weapons like every enemy, except with a lynel you're gonna break like 3 or 4 weapons before it's dead anyway, or you dodge attacks/shoot weak point to mount and attack when you don't lose durability so you actually get some sort of profit out of fighting them.

fuck off with this bullshit. even with the durbility the best tactic is to rush in and abuse the game's shitty combat mechanics, and good weapons are hardly a reward considering it will break after a few enemies. the most is does is decentivize combat. this is even more apparant on master mode where enemies regen hp and golden and silver enemies are huge durability dumps

actually i suffered through master mode which was 100% about mashing left click on the superior platform - your "other tools and mechanics to exploit" are memes because you're talking about stasis flinging shit which was exclusively for the lols and took way longer than walking about and swatting shit. bombs didn't do enough damage to kill silver or even blue tier enemies. boomerangs are ridiculously underrepresented and completely inferior to the bow. the bow is okay because of bomb and ancient arrows, both of which are crafted and require grinding to maintain. please fuck off with pretending the melee weapon wasn't the work horse because you're full of shit.
STALKER and BotW are some of the greatest games ever made.

figuring out the lynels is what makes them good, but yeah they do get boring after you figure them out because it's the same shit with obvious cues. And yes it is retarded to fight them for weapons with the shitty weapon duribility but their bows are pretty good
