As someone who wasn't into the hate train(justified or not) for this game because of the leaks and the final product, I have to say playing Last of Us part 2 has been depressing so far.
I realized that the only reason I liked the first game as much as I did was because of Joel and Joel dynamic with Ellie. The fact that it was taken away just leaves with boring gameplay between moments of dialogue of characters that I literally cannot give a shit about.

you should have realized this in the DLC for TLOU1. That's what made me realize that TLoU's appeal is Joel and Ellie's relationship. Ellie solo in that DLC was fucking trash. Her companion was boring and their interactions were just not interesting at all.
