I dropped the series because of Sword and Shield, why would I whine about buying a DLC for a game I don't own? Pokemon can't even let me bring along my collection then I can't reward it with money. I don't have a high standard here, the game could be liquid dogshit in quality but as long as I can continue autistically bringing my collection in and growing it, I would be fine. By that same token, the game could be the absolute best Pokemon game ever made and without my collection, I wouldn't bother.

Pokemon has changed lots of mechanics and moves in every single generation, from new types added to new features like Z moves or gigantamaxing. Pokemon is inline with how much every other JRPG changes per sequel. Meanwhile WPRGs lose entire mechanics every new gen.
Plus you fags have no problem playing the same game for 1000s of hours in other genres like assfaggots, MMOs, or sports games. Those games change over time, but they take years to overhaul mechanics to be significantly different, and the changes are typically just cause the game to be bad in a different way.

Third versions are literally the same game but actually finished, the only exception being B2W2 since that was an actual sequel.
