the only defense of the terrible new story I see in these threads are "why would you want the same game again? just play the original" which is very telling because firstly, nobody is claiming they want the same game again and secondly this fails to actually explain why the new story is good, but instead just accuses anyone who doesn't like it of something that they never claimed

I have the original which explores one option, and now i have the remake which explores the other option...or maybe it stays at the same option as the original, who knows?

Characters either talk exposition or make witty quips. The writing in the game before this part was much better. The urgency of being in the Shinra building on a rescue mission is lost. And they got rid of the jail scene for the tedious Drum section. Could've been better

All I want is a KH4 that takes KH3 as a base but refines on its systems, doesn't have any of the plot baggage, and has a few original worlds. Scala ad Caelum could have been so fucking good if they actually made it a proper world, even the Re:MIND version is just a cocktease.

user...this is ff7, i dont know what the fuck are you talking about. THe original was exposition and they always made witty quips. Also, i dont know what the fuck is with you, but avengers humor is FAR different than 7r.

Which i disagree because in the original, the shinra building rescue mission was poorly written. You get in, blasting dudes, with no consequences, no soldiers, the upper floors dont know anything, bla bla. At least in the remake the context is better thanks to domino intervention.

And i dont think you like the jail scene, i think what you liked was jenova getting out and the trails of blood.
The jail scene was a bad scene that forced the characters to have a deep talk in a place that shouldnt have happened in the first place, why the fuck is aeris captures there and next to the others? Also, the same scene happens in a more important part: aerith room where she used to live.
Complain about the trails of blood all you want, but to say that the jail was better than aerith room, is just insanity.

man, western AAA gaming is such a shit show these days. i think i big part of why ive mostly transitioned to japanese and indie games is because of all the identity politics and social commentary that every fucking AAA game has these days. KH3 was kind of stupid, but at least it never tried to be anything other than a video game. based eastern devs just want to animate big titties and make overly complex combat systems, and i respect it.
