>Eidos Montreal won't do it >some random guy said "fuck it" >spent more than a year remaking the whole game in Unreal >recreating AI behaviour, scripting all the missions etc to make it 1:1 >also remaking the entirety of the assets in the process >still posting regular updates to this day wtf
God yes please do I loved HR and MD but I'm way too much of a fucking Zoomer to play the original while it looks like fucking Mario and the Seven Stars
hopefully that's very early stages, it honestly doesn't look good at all. It reminds me of the version of quake II that came out not that long ago where they just put incredibly detailed textures on the old maps and made it look even worse
Nolan Reyes
It's not a bad take if you disable most of the extra shit it installs as well.
>spent more than a year >still posting regular updates to this day A year is not a long time. How old are you?
Austin Evans
kek, it looks like you never followed any "UE4 remake" project before hint: they all die in the span of a few weeks
Austin Moore
Yeah that's Unreal alright. Looks like shit.
Anthony Peterson
Zig Forums niggers will tell you this has no soul despite being the passion project of a single person

He said in the comments that the graphics themselves are the last thing he'll focus on, right now it's all about coding It's mostly placeolder assets (except the very few high res models he shows in the videos)
But this makes me wonder actually >put incredibly detailed textures on the old maps >it look even worse
>add tons of details to make the environment look current gen >the Demon's Souls crowd shows up How do you win
Eli Cruz
I ironically love early 2000 graphics, and I'm a literal zoomer don't really know why but it's really moody and charming , recent games never managed to replicate this feeling
>REEEEEMAAAKKKKKKEEEESSSS Fuck this shit Fan projects are fine but constantly begging for remakes and ports is trash
Jayden Roberts
I have a theory that low poly art is easier for certain parts of the brain to process. Fewer edges, your brain has to do less work to keep track of shit. Thats why I see games like Battlefront 2 and that "its all so tiresome" feeling. Its my brain seeing how much work its going to have to do and pulling a pic related
>He said Don't lie "I'm_With_UNATCO. Start_Talking." YOU said that and YOU need to work on YOUR project if you want a good grade on YOUR design homework.
Gabriel Sanchez
You never will appease everyone with remakes. It could be undisputed that it's better in every conceivable way but people with nostalgia will find faults when there are none. Even when you go the low frills route, you get people moaning about TP HD
Caleb Lewis
Most of the extra shit is actually disabled by default. New models, biomod, shifter, remixed ost, all disabled when starting a new game
dark souls 3 has this effect on me so much bullshit in the form of decorations and world geometry that my mind just shuts it all out and i see "enemy here, path to enemy here" and nothing else
i could draw firelink shrine from DaS1 from memory but i barely remember the basic layout of the shrine and surrounding area in 3
Blake White
wut, there was not one of those patrolling there yet another remake that changes too much
Samuel Rogers
>Ai behaviour
So it'll be as shit as normal? Hide in a vent and AI spergs out?
Gabriel Price
Why are there always a remake of this game?
Benjamin Hernandez
Nah I'm on the artfag side, not a codemonkey. I just love fan projects; AM2R was a blast, the Tomb Raider 2 demo remake was a pure nostalgia rush, I had lots of fun with SPV3 despite its flaws and even that new Rayman 1 port/remake looks great, but I have yet to try it Can't see what's so bad in hoping a Deus Ex remake succeeds, it's my favorite pre-2010 game
Chase Bell
Same but with Mankind Divided. They tried to make it look "realistic" with bottles and empty pizza boxes everywhere, but you just tune it out.
Isaac Murphy
What about Invisible War? It's not as bad as they say, it's just claustrophobic
