So memes aside, is the game actually... fun? I played the first game and enjoyed it. Didn’t think it was amazing but it was one of the few games in life that I finished pretty quickly.

Honestly it's been a bit of a mixed bag so far. I think the pacing is kind of miserable but the mechanics are solid. It just feels like quick skirmishes in between long stretches of not much happening. It might improve later though, there's definitely potential and the combat still has the same weight as the original

Most of the walky-talky stuff was in the opening couple of hours. What annoys me more than anything is that it still isn't skippable. If I want to replay it it's going to be a pain sitting through that stuff a second time

As said the mechanics are actually quite serviceable when the game lets you play it. I prefer the multiplayer for 1 for this very reason. Its all gameplay.

If you like the gameplay of 1 youll like it much more in 2. They seemed to have added a few things to spice it up

Right now mostly indifferent. The big death happened too abruptly for my tastes and I don't like Dina, but there's still a lot of potential. I think letting you play as Abby early on worked in the games favour

I really enjoyed most of this game. Joel's death was justified from his actions in the first game, and his death being cold and swift I think was a good way to set up for Ellie's wrath that carried out her monotony of the hunt for Abby. Meanwhile, I really enjoyed playing as Abby, a very interesting and definitely unlikeable character but I liked seeing some of her more vulnerable sides. Besides, the game is called The Last of Us, not the Last of Ellie & Joel, it's about the last of humanity and I think it's great that we got to play as someone from a different faction with a different background, motives, etc. Finally, for the good, I actually enjoyed Ellie's bleak ending, the empty house, her guitar skills gone, I think it was an interesting sort of poetic justice to her "deadly sin" of wrath.

However, the one thing I cannot explain or justify is the decision by Ellie to not kill Abby. I mean what a terrible, terrible writing error. The entire game Ellie is so filled with hatred towards Abby that she'll do anything to kill her, and on a flick of the wrist when she has lost everything for this, her lover, her baby, house, and friends, she doesn't care anymore? She somehow turns into a nihilist while drowning the woman she's set out to kill for multiple years? Nah, fuck that, I don't believe "Ellie" would do that.

Otherwise, I think it's a solid game, and gameplay-wise was very fun. I'd give it a 9/10

Actually, I am watching the 10 hour cutscene compilation right now and it feels like I am actually playing the game. It's actually a really good idea for this game.
