these people are retarded

What a revolutionary idea. Druckmann may be a modern Greek philosopher.

How original and brilliant

Why are you screenshoting your own posts?
Thats pretty narcissistic
>look at cormac mccarthy's writing
yes. do that and stop buying naughty dog shit
There's always a person that'll defend and make excuses of something objectively bad.
That post is just trying to reframe the conversation to be about their personal boogiemen, incels and Zig Forums. Nobody is arguing about what the game is doing. They're arguing about whether what it's doing is good or not. The game isn't subtle, so I don't know why they think their line of argumentation will work. We all know what they're doing.
>YOU JUST DON'T GET IT
>Joel got given as much respect as Anthony Carmine
the people scrambling to defend the awful story telling is pretty funny cope
holy fuck does this fucking game have gameplay?
gameplay?
>woman trying to understand No Country for Old Men
>revenge doesn't pay
>Abby gets her revenge and gets to eat her cake too
Fucking this what the fuck
Gamers rise up
I get the uncerimonial death thing I and I think it's a pretty based trope but maybe don't do it with a character everyone likes in favor of a godawful story lmao this is what happens when you have a head so far up your ass you forget you have an audience that you're supposed to be writing to
Fine then, just have Joel’s death be a sniper shot or a crossbow shot.
Or have her just jump him and maul him instead of tricking him.
A completely fleeting moment with no build up, no dialogue between them, just a violent angry display that lasts for a few seconds before it sinks in for her that nothing changed.
There is literally no single story, in any type of media, where the idea of "revenge bad" has given me some type of deep insight or has made the story better.
thank you for sharing, exodick. if that's even your real name
Honestly based take
>You're missing the point
I understand the point perfectly, but the fact is that it SHOULDN'T have been about how "revenge doesn't play" and be a game that relies on killing characters unceremoniously. It might have been actually good if it was a little more like the first game.
Yeah that thing that Zig Forumsfags dont care about
the difference is that no country for old men has a compelling narrative with believable characters and does a ton of work in the background to set this up. the game doesn't
You’re joking right? No one who has read books can believe this
>revenge doesn't pay
But Abby walks away at the end of the game.
the smoothest of brains
So many good revenge stories they could have stole from but they didnt use any of them.
the problem with TLoU2 isn't just Joel. it's been proven time and again that you can, in fact, make a game that subverts expectations or deconstructs a genre, pseudo intellectuals eat that shit up. the problem with TLoU2 is that it antagonizes the player.
Hackmann is your average self-important libtard. angry at a world that he deems unjust. and before you say it, politics have everything to do with the backlash the game is getting. because Neil himself stuffed it with as much agenda as he thought necessary to change socioeconomic issues.
and that's another problem. this is a game about zombies in an apocalyptic wasteland. not trannies having sex onscreen to prove how brave and stunning the pride flag is.
honestly a good take but it doesn't excuse the terrible writing decision to let Tommy and Ellie live
Also, No Country For Old Men built up to it's unexpected death, Joel gets clobbered 2 hours in
was this meant to be convincing
>reddit screenshot thread
truly, this is the lowest point in this site's history
I cant refute this desu
Louellen wasnt even the main character of No country for old men. The main character is chigur, fucking retards
But my VPN blocks 4chain bros what am I missing?
That's because it's a lie.
Behaviour is 100% genetic, the only way to make a better world is the slaughter is those displaying harmful behaviours, which are generally variants of treachery.
The faster the world accept that the soul is in the blood, the faster the god of this world can be defeated.
>you can, in fact, make a game that subverts expectations or deconstructs a genre, pseudo intellectuals eat that shit up
lmao those retards could have just made some Spec Ops The Line tier shit and gotten away with it
it's not even that good of a game but I still love it because it's a really well-crafted vydia with a lot of attention to detail
yeah the "player am bad" message is tackled on but really it's just a cool story about a guy going insane and it doesn't insult it's audience
This
The conundrums aren’t gripping, the characters’ motivations aren’t relateable, and the twists don’t serve an interesting overarching plot.
Please take note that Joel killing the doctor in TLoU1 was just as bad. Forcing the player to do something morally wrong that the player doesn’t otherwise feel the need to do and shaming them for it is stupid.
read the count of monte cristo bros
don't waste your time on neil druckmann
That's a great way to do it. I read a book where a significant main character just jobs in a fire fight and the rest of the cast barely even mention it because they're surrounded and have to haul ass immediately not to get killed as well.
It's a chapter or two later when they're finally somewhere secure that they even really address that it'd happened. It was fucking kino
Non-ceremonial death...
In a scene of several minutes where the character is degraded in every way, even after being killed.
>watch 10 min video of the game
>4 minute cutscene
>2 minutes of climbing over hills and crawling under fences
>you have a gun and can shoot
>but there's no enemies
>at all
>another 4 minute cutscene
I genuinely don't think it has any gameplay.
>doesn't insult its audience
this is the main gripe that i think goes unsaid with TLOU2
every theme in this game is SO heavy handed it feels like being punched by someone with cinderblocks for hands. everything about is surface level and it does everything it can to push it right into your face, with no grace or finesse at all.
going off of op's post, no country for old men is considered one of the best movies of this century so far because of how it trust the audience to connect dots and pay attention. naughty dog has no trust in its audience and feels the need to beat you constantly with the message to make sure you get it.
