How come the whole game devolved into misery porn?
It was a revenge plot game from the get-go but there was not any part where there was any true satisfaction. With Nora, they could've at least not cutaway when it got good.
Revenge was done better in TLOU1 with Joel in winter.

I've been noticing a ton of reddit spacing lately on Zig Forums. Are we being raided?
some writers took note on Game of Thrones and thought that the shocking killings and bleak setting made for good writing. The fact was that GRR Martin, as bad as he is, can understand that you write a story a story according to a logic trying to develop its characters. Now when the characters have fulfilled their roles it is necessary to remove them the way you like so the story progresses. The problem is that these new writers think that the shock is the important part and not the conclusion to a fulfilled story arch, In other words they are thinking of how will the public will react and not how the character or story should progress to represent ideas, problems or human relationships.

Seems like a very myopic view of reality, especially the harsh reality of the first game. You would think people would be less concerned about the ethics and practicality of justice and more concerned the murderous zombies and tribes. ellie is still alive and the fireflies still exist, and i would only have the rough yet safe assumption that someone so obsessed with her father- to the point of chasing a man across an apocalyptic hellscape- would have hoarded all his belongings including personal research notes.
that being said, it seems the biggest risk to the cure was fucking abby because she cared so little about it she didn't even know who ellie was and nearly fucking murdered her- ruining any chance of fulfilling her fathers work

I actually liked the ending but the whole story is just a complete fucking mess. People got this game because they wanted to play as Ellie but Dr. Uckman had to pull a “LAWLLL YOU GUYS GOT BAITED THE MAIN CHARACTER IS ACTUALLY SOME RANDOM BITCH YOURE GONNA HATE”. I don’t mind being subversive but doing it just because you know people will get angry is fucking stupid.
