Asking for "personal politics" to be kept out of game is a stupid ask. Personal politics are in TONS of games.

What you guys react to isn't the presence of personal politics. What you guys react to is the presence of a particular TYPE of personal politics, that is is pushed by petit-bourgeois types who happen to dominate media, and you react to it because it is distressingly common and everywhere and very often presented in a moralizing, sermonizing tone. You don't have a problem with politics in general. What you have a problem with is that the prroduction of your entertainment has been almost entirely captured by a particular socioeconomic class of distressing political uniformity, and they are now using their vantage point, very often captured through nepotism and inherited wealth, to sermonize to you in increasingly heavy-handed ways.

You have to start accurately describing your problems if you hope to fight effectively against them.

Love is love. It's a subjective feeling of attachment to something that evokes positive chemical reactions in your brain. You can't even objectively define love in another way that is not abstraction because it is a subjective experience that you cannot possible ever compare or share directly with another human being.
As such, the reasons for loving or not something can't be better or worse, right nor wrong. It is all dependent on the person, and as a subjective thing, its value is also subjective. It could even be argued -and it has been done- that loving actual people can be even more potentially harmful and unhealthy than loving other things.
