Should i play the first megaman games kr can skip straight to x? Also is the switch collection good or should i play the remake on psp/vita?
MegaMan x
>Should i play the first megaman games kr can skip straight to x?
You don't have to.
>is the switch collection good
No
>should i play the remake on psp/vita?
No
Maverick Hunter X is trash. Just play X-X5 then skip to the ZX games.
Just get the legacy collection 1, that's all you need.
It's downhill from there on
I suggest playing at least Megaman 2 before the X series so you can appreciate how it evolved the formula.
Play the collection on Switch, Maverick Hunter X has some nice extras but lost a lot of the charm with the middling 3D graphics.
>ZX
>not Zero
Filtered.
Classic's story sets the stage for X as they're in the same universe but in different times, but they're not essential. If you want to just play a Classic game go ahead but it's not essential to understanding X. You'd probably get more enjoyment out of the story from knowing who Dr. Light is, but X1 explains that pretty well. Classic is good stuff though, I'd recommend playing at least one game, like 4 or 6.
>is the switch collection good or should i play the remake on psp/vita?
The Collection is much more bang for your buck, if you're buying just one I'd get the Switch collection.

Don't bother with the Legacy Collections, they have input lag. Apparently it's better on the Zero/ZX Collection.
>No Zero
You serious mate?
>No Zero
Utterly pathetic.
Much better.
The difference between the two is that the XLC is shitty emulation and the Z/ZX is an actual port. They got a hold of the source code for Zero/ZX from Inti Creates, who still had the code around because they're based.
I heard the input lag was platform-dependent. Does the Switch version have it too?
How else would they recycle the sprites for Gunvolt?
They all had it. But to lesser degrees. Apparently the Xbone version of all things had the least, followed by I think the Switch version, Then PS4, and then the PC port was borderline unplayable.
Are the Gunvolt games actually good? I might try them.
>Maverick Hunter X is trash.
How is it possible to have this much shit taste?
>muh input lag
shut up faggot
Yes, they're fantastic. Just don't go into it thinking that it's just more MMZ. It's a very different game. The games focus a lot on rank and score and the mastery that comes with it.
It doesn't become less of an objective flaw just because you try to ignore it.
You don't have to but every game besides MM1 is fun so you should try them sometime.
You're an actual retard if you think any sort of noticeable input lag is acceptable in games like these.
>the "Mega Man 1 is bad" meme yet again
Yeah I wouldn't recommend it to be your first but come on it's still good.
only the first parts do and its barely noticeable unless you play the ps4 ones
forget the x faggotry you can emulate that shit no problem
is the zero/zx legacy worth buying? i just want zx3
It's the first game with more cutscenes and baby difficulty. No reason to play it other than Vile mode.
Yes. The PC version is the definitive way to play them.
There's a mod in the remastered album versions of the soundtracks. That alone makes it the best version.
>you can emulate X no problem
>but you can't emulate Zero/ZX no problem
Uh... user...
It is easy to emulate them. But I unironically prefer to play on the Z/ZX collection for reasons above.
one's a series that doesn't have a story to wrap up and i don't care about because of shitty ports already existing
the other is zero/zx, which are the best 2d megaman games n my opinion
>zero/zx wich are the best 2d megaman games
This desu.
They combine all the good traits of the franchise into a series of fun and fast games with amazing gameplay.
Does that .gif actually happen in the games?
The Zero and ZX series is without a doubt the best Mega Man games ever made. It's a shame that even with the Z/ZX Collection, not enough people have played them.
The switch collection is good don’t listen to these fags, no you don’t have to play the old mega man games, I might even recommend not doing that since X games just play better
You're wrong though. It's not good.
>Can I skip the series of almost all good games to get to the series where more than half of them are shit?
I guess if you hate yourself.
