WHY WAS THIS GOOD?

WHY WAS THIS GOOD? The gameplay was nothing special, I even remember when they revealed it initially, they made it out to be an open world zombie game, but it turned out to be linear as HECK, it was even really glitchy upon release.

The only thing good thing about it was the story, and it wasn't anything too special itself either, if it was made into a movie it would be mediocre, it was only a good story for a video game.

It wasn't very good honestly I played it for a bit and found it boring.

Wasn't this the first real "movie game"? Back then the concept was still new and people enjoyed it.

the story was actually decent and the ending wasn't a complete blueballing

It wasn't. Perhaps there's a very specific demographic that loves these types of games, but they're just really atrocious movies that occasionally ask you to use the controller. If anyone thought the first game had a compelling narrative I don't know how they were disappointed being fed shit for a second time

I don't get all the outrage at 2 when the first one is complete shit too
consolefaggotry

name a better zombie game

The Brick is Love
The Brick is Life
Master the Brick and you will master The Last of Us
Ignore the Brick and you're gonna have a bad time

the story isn't good the only good thing was the multiplayer

>RE2
>RE3
>RE4
>RE2MAKE
>Evil Within
>Evil Within 2
>Dying Light

Overall wasn't good but had some charming moments here and there, specially the happy ones. Also, Joel/Ellie relationship was executed good enough for normalfags to care, that's why they are mad about Joel's death.
And for the time, you could say it had good graphics for a console game.

2 has nothing and only builds itself over the death of a no name NPC no one cared about in 1, everything else doesn't matter.

TLoU 2 will sell millions but it will have the same effect as a combination of TLJ and Endgame, no one will care about part 3 and most normalfags will either drop video games or abandon movie games to move onto another genre or the next big thing

The story was alright and the graphics were amazing at the time. Overrated as fuck though.

>Nazi Zombies (waw)
>Undead Nightmare
>Nazi Zombies (Black ops)
>Left 4 Dead
>Left 4 Dead 2

I didn't give a shit about the story I wanted to shoot fucking zombies.

Father/daughter relationships are prime normalfag bait. That's really all there is to it.

It wasn't. At all. It got such a high praise because it was like an interactive Hollywood movie and there a are a lot of frustrated movie industry rejects working on the video game industry and on video game critic sites. Nothing else.

Seven years of bitterness and the sequel was still successful. I expect suicides here.

It wasn't good, it had excellent presentation but mediocre gameplay.
Of course journalists and people that actually wanted to watch a movie were thrilled about it.

It's about the story/characters, you dumb fuck. And the gameplay was totally competent, if not that interesting. On your first couple of playthroughs, before you learn how to cheese, the combat can be pretty intense, and the inventory/crafting system are well executed.

>the sequel was still successful.
PewdiePie and AngryJoe both had meltdowns while playing it. The vast majority of the online commentary from the playerbase is negative.

You should expect them among all the faggots and trannies that will buy the sequel, mainly cause it's just a matter of pure statistics.

It wasnt. It was a generic shooter

I didn't like a single part about the game other than the sfm porn. It didnt even feel like a b tier movie. It was just shit

Stubbs the Zombie

Honestly why was last of us praised to be an amaizing game when it's a standard third person action game. Story wasn't amaizing but it was still memorable. Honestly how were people hyped for last of us 2 to begin with?

Because it was an overall good game. The reason everyone is having meltdown is because the sequel butchered the series.

>more open with tons of freedom
Dead Rising
>Better narrative with actual decision making that has some consequences
TWD S1
>better combat and mobility
Dying Light
>better online multiplayer
Left4Dead 1 and 2
>actually fun and enjoyable with simple but innovative gameplay
Plants vs. Zombies

TLOU had almost nothing going for it even at the time, save for good console graphics that were about to be surpassed by literally any PS4 game. If you only had a PS3 at the time then it was alright.

It was special because the PS3 had no games.

that's good PR. TLOU2 is all I see on Zig Forums, it's maddening. people love to talk about what they hate

It copied the shitty television dramas that normal fags love and had good production value. That's really all you need these days.
