Half of them reuse so much content they make Ass Creed and CoD look like a fucking joke
The last send off game with Kitano was step back in every direction outside of graphics
7th mainline game was once again a fucking joke of a story, laughably bad gameplay (comparable to $5 garbage bin PS1 JRPG games), and even that game which was supposed to be "new" with so much new content as said by developers still reused shit load of content, even the new city itself had majority of textures, models, pedestrians, shops just straight lifted from previous maps and placed around few unique building recognizable from Yokohama
Basically the series wouldn't turn to shit if they stopped making those games by Kenzan and just made the final game that would take all the good things from 3,4,5,6 and just end it for once

combat so bad they've spent the past 10 years trying to fix it but it only got worse, so they gave up and took it out entirely
spending the majority of your time going back and forth in the same area for hours
cutscenes play out painfully slowly until the game decides to go CUHRAYZE and none of that slow setup meant anything because now it's a big dumb cartoon with no consequence and illogical twists upon twists just for 5 seconds of drama

They are okay.
Combat is a bit too simple, but still satisfying due to the animations.
The Japanese humor is a bit too much for me sometimes.

Even as a big fan I can step back from the series and look at it and accept that they are mostly shit. Yakuza fans seem to usually have one or two entries tha tthey adore and they keep buying the games in the hopes of having that much fun again, but the series has been on the decline for years and nobody wants to accept it. It's sunk-cost-fallacy The Series.

that's fair. a lot of people have invested in the characters and sega knows this. kiryu's story should have ended at LEAST four times by now and the reasons to pull him back in have been worse each time but fans just can't help themselves. even if they know it's shit they'll keep playing to see how his story ends, but it never will. 6 pretended to be the big ending, but it wasn't. they can't even advertise 7 without revealing kiryu is back. he'll never go as long as they can keep dangling him like a carrot and milk a few extra sales out of him.

Because i absolutely despise the "japanese" way of depicting anything in a video game. It's childish, cringe worthy as absolute fuck and the humor sucks fucking ass.
