>he mains DPS
He mains DPS
FFXIVchads:
"I main all the roles in the game."
and you main hrt?
Why yes I main tank, how could you tell?
I've suffered through a whole WoW expansion as a healer. Raids quickly get boring as people learn what to do and gear up -> healing requirements even on mythic prog are not high
On M+ every mistake of another player is on you. He stands in bad - your problem. Pulls extra - you have to heal through that. Shit dps - mobs live longer, have to heal more. Doesn't know mechanics - heal will cover you, mate! Fuck that shit.
I "main" both MNK and WHM.
MNK in Savage, WHM in Ultimate.
DPS is harder (nothing is actually hard but i'm talking relatively) than tanking or healing, at least in FFXIV.
>DPS is harder than tanking or healing, at least in FFXIV
Unless you play something like DNC. Jobs like MNK and BLM are pretty much hardmode.
>he mains DSP
based TankCHAD.
I disagree with the BLM being "hardmode",
The difficulty of BLM is not the job itself but the mechanics present in the fight. Once you learn the mechanics you can start to optimize standing still in laylines and that is not a difficult task my dood.
If you are a dumdum who progs with blm over mobile casters that is your own fault and does not make the job that hard to play.
I like to tank
Bonus points if its a non board and sword tank like regeneration tank or dodge tank
Everything is easy if you can prepare, practice and know the fight in advance.
Try BLM during a patch day. See it compares to mobile and more reactive jobs and tell me again if BLM is still not harder.
You might even drop your Enochian.
Is FFXIV worth starting now? I tried asking the general but they were arguing about some literal tranny drama.
>He mains tank
>he has a fucked up low damage solo build
>he literally cucks himself in order to get shorter queu times.
Starting now is ideal, we're in a massive content drought atm thanks to wuflu delaying development, so you have plenty of time to catch up.
You literally have to complete the entire base campaign before the game gets enjoyable.
Will I be fine playing on my own?
Not him, but also considering FF14
I heard that there will be an overhaul of starting quests somewhere in July, is there any info on that?
>he mains
Why would you limit yourself like that
Yes, although ARR can be kinda boring from time to time, everything that follows is great.
scratch some of what i just said, start when 5.3 comes out, the ARR story is getting gutted of its pointless bullshit.
Now (or in a month or two when they trim down the base game) is a pretty good time to start as that other user said, just don't go in expecting it to be much other than a long ass mostly-solo final fantasy game until you hit endgame.
Why is MNK so incredibly tedious for the amount of damage you deal? It's you have to do so much more work than any other dps class but you don't even deal that much damage when playing it well. What's the point where I can just play BLM and destroy anything from afar without moving?
You can solo the entire main story all the way to level 80 besides the mandatory dungeons, but you can queue for them and get randoms.
Once you hit Shadowbringers you can play the mandatory dungeons with NPCs but you still have to party up for the mandatory trials (boss fights).
Yes, but being an MMO, dungeon and group content is ultimately unavoidable. Everything else is perfectly fine to get through solo.
They're pruning a not entirely insignificant amount of the fluff that occupies the space in between the base game, and the first expansion, Heavensward.
Ultimately it would probably be worth waiting until we're closer to the patch launch date before you get in on it. The patch was supposed to have gone live mid June, but the covid delays hit them hard. People seem to be expecting late July early August, but nothing's been confirmed.
My same question when I got my MNK to 80. Why the fuck would I put myself through all that shit when I can just play RDM or DNC and do comparable damage for 1/4 of the work.
FF14 prides itself in being a "solo MMO". You basically never have to talk to anyone and the game will automatically match you with retards to do the mandatory story dungeons/trials.
Because nobody wants RDM or DNC when they are literally the most popular DPS jobs and every group has them (or their role slots are filled). Melee is more in demand and desu just more fun to play.
Impossible to play every job for real in XIV because of how gear is gated, I damn sure know you got like two 500 and the rest are like 483 at best. For me though I only leveled every job to adopt one of those big ugly ass birds. They’re so precious.
Buttbudies picking healer and tank are pathetic. Of course it's never going to be your fault and you can always blame DPS for not carrying you through the game.
>Melee is more in demand and desu just more fun to play.
It is but it should be way more rewarding imo.
Why is everything in ff14 so homogenised.
fuck the faghealer and retard cow combo they always suck and thnink they are always in the right fuck them

Thanks, I'll wait a bit more, then.
