Sims 4 has great graphics. Other than that, every other aspect of the game is a step down from 3.

The open neighborhood of 3 made it run like dogshit, which is the main reason they dropped it for 4. So even though 4 has much better graphics it still performs better than 3 on most machines.

3 is huge but unoptimized to a point ALL CONTENT will screw you over, especially due how it handles store/mod packages (of which there are MANY), you enjoyment depends on your rig, the open world is neat, but it can also feel rather unpopulated at times.

4 is shallow but more optimized the rehandling of tiles and suck makes it a bit better to build houses and such now that it actually has shit that was missing on release, like ladders. A huge issue is that it likes to populate areas with the same sims due the overall small scale, and that some Expansions/Game Packs actually break the Townie Generations to putting too much weight on the shit added on it, which can be annoying if you say, don't want white hijab wearing boomers with Indian name everywhere.) Emotion system could been cool but is garbage in practice since it does fuck all of the "streamlining" it was supposed to, you are still flooded with 5billion interactions (not helped by the fact mods like to put their settings menu on Sims on by default and in some cases not available to disable)
