Barrett was resurrected because he wasn't "supposed" to die. The Destiny ghosts revived him to keep everything as it happened in the original. Except now the destiny ghosts are dead. There is no roadmap now. Nothing is guaranteed to happen. Anything can be changed now.

They used Barrets fake death specifically to make sure this was understood but you're clearly retarded and unable to understand.

I liked the game. I just wish they made the game longer with less padding. It’s also one of the rare jrpgs where I look forward to the battles.

Because this is not the same story as the original. Anybody who's been alive the last 20 years knows everything that happened in the original. The destiny ghosts are obviously, throughout the entire game, making sure everything stays the same. But it wants to deviate and grow. Now they can do so and narratively make sense.

It's more than just death peckerhead. Just about anything can be changed. Things were staying the same no matter what. Frustratingly so in some cases. Now they have free reign to actually do something with a story everybody is familiar with. Now we can have actual drama and tension because children in 3rd world countries don't already know the beats of the story.

This remake is perhaps the most soulless thing to bear the Final Fantasy name so far.
