Low bar
tony hawk pro skater had a better fucking story
Tetris
MGR: Revengeance
Super Mario 64.
this
MGR got a bit deep and pretty disturbing at times while not being poorly written torture porn
That's already a pretty low bar, user. I'm tempted to say even Bioshock Infinite was better written.
easy-tier
DROD
Yep. The scene with Sundowner casually picking up some child's cyborg'd brain alone is cooler than anything and everything TLOU 2 throws at you.
>I forgot I killed my wife
Fuck off
>I forgot to kill the girl who killed my father figure
>time to play guitar I guess
>whops
Yeah, TLOU 2 sure is much better.
Pathologic 2, maybe?
>maybe
more like definitely
it's so many leagues above TLOU 2 it's not even funny
FF8
unironically
>dude amnesia
>TLOU2 a game with a shit oscar bait story and dialogue
>Bring out a game with legitimately good story and symbolism to shit on it.
Its like bringing out a assault rifle to kill a child with a twig user.
As a story SH2 is garbage.
>I murdered my wife but I forgot lmao
But the way its told and the atmosphere and all that shit make it amazing (for a gameā¢).
NOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T NARRATE THE STORY UNRELIABLY
Pacman
He never forgot. His responses and mood are so lethargic at the start its obvious the writers wanted you to think so. James obvious got the note and came to the town because he no longer gives a fuck. His responses to Angela sound like a man who doesn't care if he gets shanks and dies in the city she calls dangerous. Even when he comes to terms with what he did it seems like he already knew it based off his tone.
Yeah, fuck off David Lunch.
David Lunch lol
That's a bad comparison because David Lynch has openly acknowledged he deliberately has meaningless nonsense in his films to troll the arty farty types that like to interpret shit and sit around smelling their own farts whereas the Silent Hill fanbase is firmly of the opinion literally every single thing about those Team Silent games has a hidden meaning behind it and there's no random nonsense in there at all.
As a snoyboy the current state of snoy hurts me.
Based
I never understood the hate for VIII. Junction has flaws but it's something different in a sea of sameness that actually requires a different approach to combat, and the game lets you bypass it altogether outside of bosses with diablo's enc-none ability and triple triad. The story has some retarded shit but so does literally every FF. I'd say time travel still isn't as stupid as whatever X's dreamworld shit was about.
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures
TLOU2 isn't even oscarbait. It's "fake prestige TV" level, like Walking Dead. Just shock value with zero substance. If it was a movie, no one would take it seriously.
>has meaningless nonsense
It doesn't mean he implies that it's all meaningless.
>That's a bad comparison
That's the most direct comparison. I'm not saying japs plagiarized anything. But it's like some Kimba/Simba shit.
>Fred and James murder their wifes
>Surpresses this trauma and "forget" what they've done
>over the course of the narrative unfolding the protagonists are haunted by subconscious manifestations of his own actions that push him forward to revealing what they've done
>upon finding a video tape showing the murder they committed the world around them breaks down and becomes unrecognizable
>both the game and the movie have the characters interacting with dopplegangers of their wives who are more sultry and torment them for what they've done, representing their idolized vision of the wives via making them more slutty
The only difference is that Fred finds out about the murder midway instead of the end and runs away instead of accepting it. Which is much more kino. Cruise me babe, a blond belief beyond.
This film is kino.
>he fell for the David Lynch "my movies are random bullshit lmao"
bro he's trolling you just as much as you think he's troling the artsy fartsy types
The final lynchpill is that his movies are full of meaning and have a coherent narrative but they're not displayed as a puzzle box, you don't approach Lynch movies trying to "solve" them (besides one, but that's purposefully built as a mystery)
They're unpretentious in every level, it's just his dreams and how he feels about shit.
>*The final lynchpill is that his films are full of meaning and a coherent narrative but Lynch appreciates the connection between art and viewer too much to say "No, your interpretation is wrong, the story wasn't like that. This is the TRUE meaning of the story, dictated by me"
ftfy
Lynch is a true "death of the author" auteur
