Why was the combat so shitty?
Why none of the choices have any significant impact?
Dragon aids: boring
Don't talk shit about DA:O. It's the only good game in an otherwise faggoty franchise.
Because you picked Human Warrior like a fag when you were supposed to pick Mage Tower
Bioware never made a game with good combat.
The combat is absolutely atrocious tho.
The only thing half playable was dual wield warrior.
The ending choices are the only ones that are significant mostly. Although, I enjoy the choices the game has to offer like with the werewolves.
This, mages are op.
Epic bait.
Mass Effect 3.
They outsourced the combat in that one so it doesnt count
maybe your brain is too small for this kind of game, op. go back to your cell phone visual novel games.
No it isnt bait.
Two handed weapons are slow as fuck and the abilities' cooldowns are too long and consume too much stamina to be used reliably.
Dual wielding is also bugged. Theres a sustained ability called dual striking (makes you attavk with both weapons at the same time as long as its active) that makes like1/3 of your attacks not connect t all.
Archery is dog shit. (Its very good in awakening tho).
Mages are mostly a support class, since your best spells like fireball also damage your party. Friendly fire is fucking retarded.
>Mages are mostly a support class
I wish this was at the top of your post so I would stop reading there and wouldn't waste ten seconds out of my life to read your fucking retarded post you imbecile faggot.
I think you mean Arcane Warrior. Also combat in this game is some weird half measure between old style realtime-with pause system that many party based crpg's have, but dumbed down and also made "actiony" so it could live on consoles. It's why the combat probably feels like shit to you if you're just controlling 1 character in third person, these types of games are more about controlling all of them from top down, which you can do and this is the only dragon age that actually does that well because it still had one foot in the crpg hallway. Also there's no attacks of opportunity in this game so you can just kite stronger enemies around until they die.
But I would still take it over what the newer games did. DA2 felt even more dumbed down and way too easy, although I like how Archery actually feels like it does damage in DA2. And Inquisition went full console 3rd person action rpg with capped 8 ability hotkeys included. And that one is even more boring because it's not even fun to play compared to other action rpg's + the "tactics" camera in it is clunky and useless.
Ok lol whatever, die in hell cockmuncher. Thanks for making a DA thread though.
The biggest thing is learning to manually control units. Don't just let them sit in a fireball crowd control enemies and stack aoes on them use your warrior taunt, forcefield him stack aoe space repeat. Later on your can stack magic resist on your tank of choice and just go to town.
Definitely not all combat trees are born equally your not wrong but that's pretty typical of an rpg like this.
The multiplayer was but I don't know that it's the case with the single player. The combat doesn't really become great unless you're using a mouse and keyboard anyways.
>mages are mostly a support class
OH NONONONO HAHAHAHAHHAHA
The elven leader was really shit wasn’t he
Why yes I do use the Skip the Fade mod.
They are tho, the best thing a mage can do is heal and provide buffs like haste and flame weapons
Based. Fuck the fade.
Childhood crush. Remember kissing Morrigan as soon as Lothering
>as soon as lothering
Is that actually possible?
I think so. Unless it was Redcliff eight after, I'm not sure
>he didn't use the skip the game mod
You don't play dragon age for the combat system, you fucking faggot. Just use cheats.
Yup. Just smooth talk her as soon as possible and gift-bomb her
I hated how cliche it was. Human Elf Dwarf, Warrior Rogue or Mage. Now we're fighting against the generic "darkspawn", but hey we have some racism that makes it totally refreshing right? Fuck you, this is bottom of the barrel tier of effort, it's like they were asked with giving the OK to a basicbitch fantasy checklist and they exceeded at that. It's hard to think of a more generic fantasy game to me.
>do everything to get the best end
>epilogue
>everything's great
>dwarves still fuck things up for themselves
Can't you short fuckers just get along for once?
The natural state of manlets is war.
Combat is fine, it is not an action game
dear god just shut up
You cant refute me
They're always one step away from getting curb-stomped by something they dig up in the deep anyways.
