Every fag at Gamexplain, IGN, and other twitter “I have sources” keep saying it’s Min Min

No one cares. In fact, Zero did a whole vid about how the Arms announcement helped kill Smash's momentum. As someone who hasn't played ARMS, I'd be fine with either Min Min or Twintelle because they are both beautiful and diverse characters, and apparently those 2 are deconfirmed so... fuck Sakurai lol.

Honestly i win in any timeline that doesn't have Springtron, Misango, Kid Cobra or Lola Pop.

Actually, maybe one or 2 timelines where there aren't degenerates with an inflation fetish I might win with Lola Pop.

I'd be especially fucking happy if it's any of the characters with a Spirit, or if it's Brass or Coyle.

Man it feels good to win and be legit happy for any character and option Sakurai has chosen.

God damn this argument is flawed to its very CORE. There isn’t a single merc that has a similar moveset. The closest thing is that some of them share a shotgun. In ARMS, however, EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER HAS THE EXACT SAME MOVESET. Don’t you fucking even try to claim this is the same situation, you colossal idiot.
Springman and Ribbon Girl already work perfectly as alts of eachother, because their little abilities are already in Smash. Minmin has half of her ability in Smash already, with the other half easily ignored and Ninjara is the only one who doesn’t fully have his ability in Smash, but is also easily ignored.
You want to know why? Because these “abilities” are non existent in comparison to the main gimmick of ARMS, being the actual extendable ARMS themselves. These characters aren’t going to rep their own character, when no matter how many characters ARE or AREN’T costumes, the ARMS fighter is STILL representing ARMS. Adding an ability that each character has in ARMS to differentiate themselves from other ARMS characters is completely redundant, because they aren’t in ARMS anymore, they’re in SMASH. Every ARMS character would be 100% identical if they didn’t have these tiny little abilities in their source game, but in Smash they’d be completely the same, even if they DO have those abilities. It’d be Peach-Daisy-tier.
Your poorly thought out TF2 strawman isn’t even CLOSE to “what the ARMS situation is,” because there IS much more you can do with the ARMS rep while they’re alts, because it’s fucking ARMS. A completely new game that is unlike any already in Smash. There’s already too much to make into a moveset BEFORE even factoring in each character’s unique ability on top of that.
Also, Springman, Ribbon, Ninjara and Minmin work perfectly as alts, because all of them have next to no personality to begin with, no “ personality and individuality stripped” away, because there wasn’t any.

It’s not so much the characters themselves, but more what they can cause if they get revealed

This idea makes no sense though. Springman is designed top to bottom to be the main character. His colors are red blue and white because those are very commonly used for main characters because of the distinct contrast that attracts the eye. Think Mario, sonic, ryu. All have those colors. He's also the most simple from a gameplay perspective because he is meant to teach players the basics of the game. Even the story is centered around him. Unless Springman gets radical redesigns in a future game, he will ALWAYS be the main character.

The problem is that you are thinking it's about marketing and hype. When really, that has nothing to do with it and they just had to delay the announcement of the character because of circumstances and thought of this to just give us SOMETHING.

Nintendo is completely out of touch with marketing anyway. Look at all of their switch commercials. You really think they wouldn't try to gain hype for something substandard because they haven't realized how bad it is? Just look at Sakurai and his fucking hand signs for 13. How many times he's said that individual character popularity is barely considered. Springman would be chosen because his ability is the easiest to translate into Smash.
