I have to know. What exactly was Nintendo even planning to do at E3 before it was cancelled? It's been a full on week since E3 would have been and they've announced basically nothing. The only particularly interesting thing was the Paper Mario game they announced a few months ago. They even confirmed they're not going to reveal any fighter besides the ARMS fighter. So did they straight up have nothing to show at E3? Or else they would have shown it by now. It's seeming like they completely lucked out by there being no E3.

Even large companies are so incompetently run, I'm willing to bet they didn't even have a fully drawn out plan in March when E3 was canceled.
Hypothetically speaking, it probably would've been Pokemon Snap or Paper Mario. Only games I can really think of that they could hype up and build a large booth with.

That's the thing, even next to Nintendo's other E3s that's pretty much nothing. It boggles the mind that they had nothing ready for the biggest gaming evenf of the year.

>the Paper Mario game they announced a few months ago
Weeks to a month.

There is still the Mario and Metroid game rumors that were together with Paper Mario, since that one was true then the others might be too, but they might announce it when it is closer to release like with PM.

I doubt those are true.

>I have to know. What exactly was Nintendo even planning to do at E3 before it was cancelled?
literally nothing. nintendo had no games planned anyways.

They've already announced Paper Mario and Pokemon Snap. Pikmin 3 deluxe, and Mario 3D remaster collection are rumored. There's probably at least one more first party title in there we haven't heard about. That's not a bad year.

and your reasoning is...?

Nintendo just announced two more Pokémon smartphone games and more content for Mario Kart phone edition.

I think it is pretty obvious that the future of Nintendo is not on consoles.

Gee it's almost like they're shuttering development to work on mobile games like the president has wanted forever before he was even president.

Aren't Nintendo E3 presentations normally only like 40 minutes anyway? They just had a 10 minute pokemon presentation, there's a Smash presentation on Monday, and they've been uploading trailers for their recent and upcoming games all week. They've probably just broken their shit up and released it as is convenient now that they aren't obligated to blow everything on one specific day. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a proper mini-direct coming in a week or two either.

>shovelware and ports
>not a bad year

>Everything I don't like is shovelware

Odds are had E3 not been cancelled, they would have waited on the Paper Mario news, the Pokemon Snap news and then dropped vague teasers for a Switch port Metroid Prime Trilogy/Prime 4 and talked the Sw/Sh DLC.

>merge handheld and console development together
>no games

epic

>No games
>Nintendo has published 32 games in 3 years
>Also published multiple expansions (Torna, octo expansion, etc.)
>The gamecube got 30 first party games total

We have a Metroid Prime Trilogy rumor every fucking month, it's always bullshit, stop falling for it retard

Nintendo treats everything that's not mainline Mario, Zelda, and maybe metroid sometimes like shovelware. Prove me wrong. And Pokemon is going to continue being shovelware until Nintendo makes gamefreak actually put effort into their games

Pokemon Snap is not made by gamefreak, it's being made by Bandai Namco.

and how many of those have released in 2020 besides AC?

>DUDE POGGERS SMASH BROS
>ONLY ONE CHARACTER WHAT THE FUCK?
>WOW MORE INDY GSMES AMAZING
>WHERES PRIME 4 REEEEEEE
that’s it. That’s all it ever is

You are why games are mostly shit now. You realize that, right?

They - by which I mean ALL devs, not just Nintendo - don't have to constantly be releasing shit. That's why you get rushed trash full of DLC and MTX trying to fix what they didn't release correctly to begin with.

If at least 5 years haven't passed since the last game there is no reason to even question what's going on.

Fuck off and die ADHD zoomer faggot.

They weren't going to have a direct around this time period.

What makes you faggots think that they didn't just chop up their presentaiton, reveal a few things, and save the rest for later? It is a big obligation to have a good showing at e3 every year, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Nintendo used this gay corona situation to get out of it and show some of their big stuff a little bit later when they can have more time to themselves. I won't be surprised at all if there is a direct within the next month or two that shows off at least half of what they were planning on showing at e3, while the rest of the stuff they already showed or will trickle out until then.

Before the virus, insiders were already saying 2020 was going to be a dry year for Nintendo. Except instead of us knowing about their plans last week, we are now at the mercy of nintendo kinda just deciding whenever the fuck they want to talk.

You be saying, yearly releases aren't a good thing?

2020 was another dead year like 2018. That much should have been obvious when they '''''delayed''''' Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but you chose to be ignorant.

The insiders don't know shit, how many insiders have told us Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch exists for the past 2 years?

Those games aren't made by Nintendo, they're outsourced to chinks

>>The gamecube got 30 first party games total
Did it really? It feels like it was way more.
