So what the fuck is this?

>we could be getting tes 6 next year, but instead we get this shit?
yep it hurts, another shitty sci-fi game that’ll be playable for a month or two before going back to modded Skyrim. Fucks sake Todd wtf are you doing

skyrim fags are cancer, doing something new is the only thing that can make beth studious get their shit together, TES is a shitty setting anyway

they haven't been silent on it. they usually say nothing until like 5 months before release. announcing it early was unusual for them.

it is a sci fi bethesda game. and i want it.

>why have they been so weirdly silent on it?
Beth has been practicing their policy of revealing as little as possible about upcoming games since Fallout 4, as it turns out to be far more easy and rentable.
>who wants this?
My guess would be: the milions and milions of people who enjoyed Mass Effect series, and are not completely lacking any outlet for themselves?
The whole insane army of treckies and SW fans - basically a potential fanbase as big as the entire fantasy enthusiast army, and frankly a lot bigger than people who are into post-apo shit.

Beth became the paragon of nerdy mediocrity. That has been for a long time their entire fucking deal. They take a nerdy subject (fantasy, post-apo), and then shit out the single most bland, generic, inoffensive, broad-spectrum appealing, non-threatening and non-demanding open world "rpg" imaginable: effectively cornering the entire deman for it from the mainstream.

They did this with generic fantasy, and generic post-apocalypse: now it's only logical they'll do the same for space opera.

youre so fucking dumb

>it is a sci fi bethesda game. and i want it.
Yeah, because Beth has proven to be a studio with such a penchant for clever and consistent world-building, right?
I mean: I am happy that we at least see a new IP in the AAA market, but - it's gonna be a fucking Bethesda game. It's not going to be good.

>youre so fucking dumb
How so?

it will be the outer worlds but worse, won't it?

>so what the fuck is this?
A buggy piece of shit running on an engine from the previous century.
>why have they been so weirdly silent on it?
Bethesda is still figuring out how they can make money out of mods.
>who wants this?
All of Zig Forums and leddit because children don't know any better.
>we could be getting tes 6 next year, but instead we get this shit?
We'll be getting Skyrim on the PlayStation 7 before TES6.

It definitely will be worse. But I doubt it will be particularly similar in terms of structure. Maybe superficially, in terms of U.I. and possibly the use of powers - not so much because it will be aping OW, but rather because it will be like OW building up on the fallout systems.

tes and fallout are great settings and instantly recognizable. how can they be bland and generic if that's the case?

I'd rather play Fallout 76 than the outer worlds. It's probably the blandest game of all time.

TES had ONE game with interesting settings, everything else was as bland, generic and brain-dead as humanly possible.
Fallout once had decent settings, but much like TES, Beth has gutted literally any semblance of style or distinctive atmosphere out of it because... that is what they do. That is what they have always been doing to begin with. The SOLE memorable product they ever made, Morrowind, was a crazy fluke and absolute outlier.

What ever actual creative talent in TES was killed by design philosophy based entirely on pure profit maximization. They have not released a good product in... how long it was since Morrowind? 16 years? Everything else was just canibalizing someone elses work and making it far, far worse in the process.

They didnt create the fallout setting

exactly my point. and both old fallout and nufallout have a unique atmosphere and style

>TES is a shitty setting anyway

>so what the fuck is this?

It's going to be Fallout 4 IN SPACE

agree to disagree. i love all tes games and settings

so many harsh and COMPLETELY UNWARRANTED words there fellow user
I for one am gratefull for once in a lifetime opportunity to return to skyrim thanks to Elders Scrolls Online: Greymoor Chapter. Hope your preorder will arrive soon and this amazing experience will sooth your nerves.

This just proves how the Bethesda hating cucks just talk out of their ass. They make a decision to hate the game before they know the slightest thing about it, because Bethesda makes games that do so many things better than whatever other midbrow RPG Beth haters make a pretense of loving. And they do it all with literally copy pasting opinions from each other, almost word for word.

>Weirdly silent.
The weird thing is that they announced it years before release.
Bethesda usually announces a game and it comes out within a year.

Obsidiot cope.

>playable for a month or two before going back to modded Skyrim
That's what TES6 will be except this time round it will have castrated modding, so you STILL will go back to decade old Skyrim.
TES is fucking dead at this point. And Fallout has always been shit. So yeah, let them try something new. It'll probably be bade because it's made by Bethesda, but at least it will be a fresh kind of bad.

whatever it is it's probably going to suck, with janky gameplay and outdated graphics and ugly plastic faced characters with the same 10 voice actors, but it will sell 10 trillion copies

I'm glad we have clarvoyents and prophets here to make omnisciently bullshit predictions.

Why should I care? It will be another mods made on their shitty engine. It will be another open-world but they are probably still incapable of doing vehicles worth a damn, it will be glichy as hell, it will use leveling that can easily be exploited if it doesn't come broken out of the box.

In short, nothing good can come out of Bethesda.
I consider everything they sold up to now to be one mixed success when game criteria were low followed by the power of marketing on sheep.

They may have made good game 15years ago, but since then they didn't improved it in anything but graphic.

>Completely cancelled their E3 event and refused to announce anything whatsoever

This is the weirdest thing to me, I'd imagine Starfield is a next gen title so why would it not be their big thing at this years E3? On the other hand is it really that far away from launch that they had absolutely nothing to show this year and said fuck it?

Look at what Bethesda have done in the last entire decade. Re-released Skyrim (a game universally considered worse than its predecessors) a billion times and attempted to destroy free modding, released a mediocre main Fallout entry, and an absolute trainwreck of a Fallout MMO. There is nothing to suggest TES 6 will be any better.

AAA gaming culture needs to die. It won't, but it needs to.

I'm guessing that starfield did not exist beyond a logo and a barebones concept at the time of announcement, but was "revealed" anyways because bethesda needed something to cover their ass after the disaster that was fallout 76.

I, for one, am very interested to see how bethesda will fuck up a game set in space

I expect they're still using Gamebryo-based Creation engine which means it'll be shit

It's going to be worse The Outer Worlds and everyone will laugh at Bethesda. Screenshot this.
