Do you think that XIV will have the same staying power or cultural impact that other big games such as World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, Everquest, Runescape, and Maple Story had on people and the gaming media? I rarely hear about XIV or see references or fans of it outside of the game. While all the other ones I see countless references in other media and many vocal fans. Will XIV leave a legacy like that because I'd expect something to have started considering it's over 10 years old now.

That is because people are playing it. XIV still don't have a large fanbase of people that love (or loved) the game but don't feel like playing it anymore.
