I enjoyed color splash enough to play it twice, but i've played PM64 10 times, TTYD well over 30, and SPM about 6.

The replayability of these newer post SS paper marios just isnt there. its not fun to go back to the bland cut-out worlds based on [insert color]. The first three had this call to adventure, everything about their worlds and design was exciting and interesting to explore, like an RPG should be. . Honestly partners being cut sucks, but color splash still had its own charm, it was a step forward and like, nine steps backwards though. Something new is cool, but it needs to still keep the integrity of the originals, which nintendo still won't do.

Needless to say, I will play Origami king, but its likely going to be a three-month later gamefly rental because i doubt i'
ll ever replay it, so theres no point to buy it.

i'm going to wait for more information about the game before i pick it up, since it seems promising, but i don't want to get my hopes too high.

So far the world looks nice, I don’t think we are gonna get that annoying world1-1 format again, this actually looks like an open world.
What I actually want to know is if the coins are actually worth something as a progression system, is mario gonna get stronger with more coins? Are there skills we can unlock with them? That’s important because otherwise there’s no reason to actually seek battles, my other concern are the partners, I don’t mind if they aren’t OC’s, I liked those though, but I can play without them, what I actually want to know is if they are permanent or are they only tagging along to assist in specific levels? How do they assist in battles? Can they progress using coins too? Do they have uses in the overworld? And finally, I know this is a tiny aspect, but I want to see the Chapters cutscenes that the first two games had: Prologue (insert name) chapter 1 (insert name) I know is a tiny feature but it actually made the story more lively to me

coins are to buy better equipment, which gets damaged and breaks with use

There always needs to be some sort of tagalong to speak for Mario. Starlow, Stuffwell, Huey, FLUDD, the old partner system from Paper Mario. Doesn't mean the writing won't be shit

It seems the partners will auto attack like in Color Splash, they were probably just added because IS decided to read 5 posts about why people hated CS after it flopped before isolating themselves again.

My expectations are that it will flop, there is no excitement for this in the mainstream. Outside of that it is very clearly another Color Trash

people overall are pretty excited for it, just that Zig Forums is being Zig Forums
