Why does Zig Forums hate the remake?
Why does Zig Forums hate the remake?
It wasn't very good. If you want a straight answer, I think the Train Graveyard is not only the worst part of the game, but sums up everything wrong with the game. And they have you go into the sewers twice. And the random FF13 dungeon underneath Hojo's lab instead of just letting you continue to the next story beat with no bullshit.
I really liked it.... until the last half of the last chapter.
no pc
Because it sucks like every other fucking Sony release this year.
Zig Forums doesn't play video games
I liked it, it was a good game and is by far the best depiction of these characters since the original game.
The ending is absolutely confounding.
It's just fucking shit and only good for waifus.
I've not played it.
Coping PC trannies and nothing else
Too much padding, time jannies & shitty ending.
The rest is fine.
>PC trannies
>people say Zig Forums isn't obsessed with trannies
lol. either way, PCfags can at least mod the game to not have Tifa in fucking spandex shorts, you know, like every other fucking game has been OK with her flashing her underwear.
>It wasn't very good.
how so?
>but sums up everything wrong with the game
such as?
History niggas
Agreed. I was enjoying everything until the last section.
There you have it, folks
It’s fun
It's probably the worst video game ever created since the Superman game on the N64
severe cope. Why are FF trannies so disingenuous?
the train graveyard is a fucking insult
>literal who ghosts and I'm supposed to give a fuck about them
>Eligor with recycled mechanics from a trash raid boss from fucking FF XIV
>shit corridor "dungeon" just to open a path even fucking Aeris could jump with her eyes closed
god that shit was so fucking pointless
Most of Zig Forums is full of zoomers, so they expected to play FF7 with the remake rather than just play the original. Since the remake for now cant be appreciated and cant really replace the original without the entire remake project on its own, Zig Forums hates it.
The game is still a great game nd the commons complains i see are just random stuff you find in commonly liked games but for some reason now it is a problem worthy of mentioning and changing your opinion from great to bad.
So is it worse than the equivalent part of the original?
From what I can tell the gameplay looks better since I hate turn based shit. So what makes it so bad?
- The combat sucked.
- The world map, while pretty in some places, was largely a hallway with open arenas for fights.
- The graphics were inconsistent.
- The story shit the bed constantly with their additions.
- The sidequests were terrible and intrusive.
Sephiroth should not have been used so heavily, if they had to show him, the place to do it would've been in the Shinra building and nowhere else.
The music was good, though.
Too much padding. Fucks with the setting too much. Maneuvering in the environment is like navigating an unfamiliar room in the dark, constantly stopping as you bang your shins into things. Only 4 Enemy Skills (what the fuck). Didn't think about how certain things completely change the context of the game. Chadley as a whole introduces so many problems to the story that I could fill a post. Japan has no idea how to make guns fun or interesting so Barret starts with a 20mm Vulcan autocannon and then upgrades to an LMG and then upgrades to some kind of Samus-ass arm cannon and then to something with "cannon" in the name but they're all just fucking machine guns of identical characteristic. Battle system is jank as fuck and makes incredibly obtuse decisions like adding a stun effect outside of the status ailment system so it cannot be conventionally resisted or cured, and then letting a boss (Airbuster) chain-combo attacks that inflict it. And enemies automatically aggro the character you're playing so if you're of a casterly disposition enjoy trying to dodge an incoming melee rushdown as Aerith that totally ignores the front (Cloud/Tifa) and mid (Barret) line fighters.
The game is beautiful (outside of the texture errors), but holy fuck it needed a fair amount of redesign.
Oh yeah. And they outright fucking lied about it being a remake.
>Only 4 Enemy Skills
what the fuck? I don't believe you
I think i spent more time saying out load "what is this retard spouting, thats no true at all" rather than reading your post
how do you manage that?
Yeah only 4 enemy skills and all were useful, which beats the 4 enemy skills worth getting in the original and 16 that were useless shit
none of them were useful tho false flag poster
Self Destruct - You will never use this unless you build specifically for it.
Algid Aura - AoE ice damage over time. Costs 1 ATB.
Spirit Siphon - AoE nonelemental damage over time, drains HP. 2 ATB
Bad Breath - You know this one but it's POST GAME ONLY. You have to unlock hard mode first and one of the last optional fights will be a Marlboro, the only one in the game.
That's it. The entire fucking Enemy Skill list. One of the late-game bosses even uses the Laser Enemy Skill, but you can't learn it.
Not gonna lie, I'm hyped as fuck for part 2.
I'm just waiting for the whole game to come out before buying it.
Self destruct is broken
Bad breath makes bosses a breeze
Algid aura + hp absorb works wonders
Spirit siphon is the only one shit
But what do you care, your entire post screams "look i didnt play all right? i just watched a playthrough"
I think it's a fine game on it's own, but it does a bunch of shit I don't like
>Artificially extending the game
Now, if they had expanded Midgar as promised, I would be totally on board. But they didn't really do that outside of one very small, very bland segment. Instead we had a lot of long hallways and holding triangle. Things like this strongly indicate to me the purpose behind splitting FF7 into parts wasn't an artistic choice, but a financial one.
>combat was shoddy
Don't get me wrong, it's their best attempt at mixing styles yet. It still has some glaring holes, like aerial combat, missable limit breaks, and stagger meters resetting due to "cinematics". It also feels very constraining to always have certain materia equipped because there's only one real way to approach many encounters and that's to spam the weakness. It's just not particularly fun and I think people enamored with it need to get their heads checked.
>subversive storytelling
I think this one speaks for itself, but I'm just really not a fan of what they're doing. It's the sort of thing I think can be executed well, like in Bravely Default, but. as usual, they have chosen to go about it in the stupidest, most on the nose way possible. The ghosts are just awful and destroy every scene they're in. I have zero faith in this creative team and I'm not sure why anyone would.
>lazy shit
Everyone and their mother has commented on this, but everything that isn't the main characters or big set pieces looks like it was bought wholesale from unreal market. The NPCs looking like basic ass NPCs from the real world really chaps my ass, as does much of Midgard looking like a normal city.
>Sephiroth
Jesus christ, I hate homolove Sephiroth showing up everywhere just to talk shit like he's in Organization XIII or something
Now as for what they did well...combat isn't awful, the characters look and sound amazing, their interactions are spectacular, certain setpieces perfect.
I did play it and I'm not the guy whose post you responded to. Keep being desperate to defend Squeenix' turd though.
Holy shit.
I only have self-destruct and here I was looking for monsters with skills before finishing the game like a retard. This shit is so sad it makes me laugh.
>Keep being desperate to defend Squeenix' turd though.
I dont need to defend actually. Your entire post says that you didnt play it at all. It is easy as fuck to notice who played and who didnt.
>You didn't play it
The shill's favourite line for when they can't defend their buyer's remorse.
