It's the last day of the event. Discuss and recommend demos to fellow anons.
So far Conscript, Hrot, Crab Fight and Gloodwood have been my favorites. Inmost was really good but isn't anything to get excited about. Downloading Industria next.

The only demos I played were for Gloomwood and ULTRAKILL. I heard they were good, I played most of each demo, and yeah, they're okay. I would have liked to try some demos of more obscure games but I just didn't have time. Are most of the demos going to be taken down when the event is over?
I played the destroy all humans demo and it's pretty fun. Never played the originals, but i'm thinking of picking up remake.
There are literally no good games to buy, pirate, play.
Regiments
Conscript
Rhythm Doctor
Dwerve
Dungeon of Naheulbeuk
Best demos of the event.
gentlemen i present you the worst fucking demo ive played this whole event
store.steampowered.com
>it barely runs
>its slow as shit
>it controls like complete ass
>MUH EPIC FUTURISTIC UI THATS BARELY READABLE
i love From Mission and Battletech, i wanted to like this, but its such a mess its impossible
i couldnt get into Regiments, it looks so cheap, id rather play world in conflict
best demos:
>D.E.E.P. Battle of Jove
>Everhood
>Ghostrunner
>ULTRAKILL
>The Last Spell
>Crown Trick
>Fae Tactics
>Rhythm Doctor
>Iron Oath
>The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos
>EVERSPACE 2
That makes no sense, user. Objectively, world in conflict's age makes it look worse. You got some thick nostalgia googles.
How come demos used to be so common years ago, but kind have died out now aside from this event?
Because AAA claimed they were bad for sales, since if the game's shit the consumer can see so early. They're great for smaller devs though, AAA just has no confidence in their own product.
Ghostrunner, ULTRAKILL and Shady Knight all left me wanting more, so I'm wishlisting those three.
Will keep an eye on Skellboy, gameplay felt a bit slow but I like the art direction. Gonna try out Desperados 3 and Eldest Souls.
they take too many resources to make and do not guarantee a sale
here theres a difference, valve made this an event, so theres more traffic and more attention, plus since people can wishlist games they like, its more likely they will buy the game once it releases, therefore work a demo is more justifiable due to greater exposure and more likely sales
im not talking just about graphics, its presentation as a whole, i could TELL regiments was made in unity, and that usually doesnt happen even with the janky unity games such as Satellite Reign
sound, interface, controls, it all looks and feels so cheap
>take spark for first spell
>deals about as much damage to me over the run as the monsters.
10/10 unironically, best wizard sim since magicka.
That sounds dumb.
Run to orbs so you can get summon bear as your first spell.
Don't need no shit but the bear.
Ultrasoul, Soulwood and Soulscript. Don't bother with anything else.
gloomwood is super mediocre tough
Games I wishlisted due to this event
>ULTRAKILL
>Griftlands
>Exo One

Out of Reach: Pirate objective based battle royale.
Patricks Paradox: Puzzle game with recursion.
Phogsi: Dual body puzzle platformer.
Recompile: Small cyberspace 3D platformer.
Rhythm Doctor: One button rhythm game.
Shady Knight: Movement focused melee platformer.

Is that pat of the event? I know it's had that demo for like five years now.
It was supposed to release in like 2014-2015, but now it's "2020 (lol)"
There's a good idea behind it, but it really sorely needed work and the lack of updates mean it probably never will happen.
play the new weebsoul
The loli one?
16 hours left until the end
Is it normal for the demo boss in Nobeta to be kicking my ass?
If diablo-soulslike sounds interesting then play Guilt The Deathless, haven't heard anyone mention it
probably because it's extreme junk
Just looked it up. Not really my thing, but I appreciate the suggestion.
well, at least movement is ok
yeah game is pretty janky and I hate the camera
music is good though, might have potential if they fix a lot of shit
wishlist rhythm doctor or farmurai will find you
I wish it was good too user
