a lot better, you have a lot more ways to choose in the way you want to engage. you can evade and strategize again and the killings are fucking brutal. hearing your enemies comment in how you massacred their friend and shit is great. you feel like a vietkong silent killer type.

Rainworld

looks fun to me, not buying a cuckbox for it but the combat graphics and environment were very cool. The story was pretty unsatisfying if you just want the MC to win outright, but its obviously supposed to be a "realistic" portrayal of a harsh world where sometimes you lose

The combat is unironically the game's saving grace. Even if you play on Normal, the life or death scenarios are intense, but Hard or Survival takes it to a greater level. Though I felt the infected encounters were the most stale until halfway through the game, they introduce enough variety to keep interest. The stalkers and ones that suddenly come out from the walls are great. Plus the Resident Evil-style boss fight at the hospital.

Too bad the levels between enemy encounters aren't as interesting. It's not as repetitive as the first game, but you still do a lot of mundane tasks over and over again, like starting generators and cables. You even do the same kind of ladder/plank/dumpster things later on.

It's pretty fun. The shooting and sneaking is smooth as butter. The story is just kinda dumb. All that production value and cinematic presentation and what for? Two self serious muscleheads with daddy issues mowing down goons and crawling through the dirt because of some personal vendetta. The fact that they're both women is kinda novel but doesn't really change anything. It feels like a cheesy action movies from the early 90s. It's "gritty" but it's not artistic and I think it's hilarious Druckmann seemed to think it was.

Much better. But I wish they would have tweaked "listen" mode to not be such obvious bullshit. I don't need to see the entire outline. The AI is also really, really fucking stupid.
