Melee exists so your artillery/ranged units can turn the enemies into swiss cheese. Cavalry is fine, but not the best in the game (demigryphs are good though). Always have a mage, but know that your martial heroes aren't good 1v1 fighters against other heroes/lords.

Lolwut? It has trash damage output, especially compared to blood knights. Blood knights are the best anti-cavalry and anti-giant units VCs have. VCs can kill lords with MOMMY vampire specced as a pure fighter, she's much better than a shitty terrorgheist. Heck, even the blood knights are better at killing lords.

Forgot blood knights were a thing. It has fine damage output either way, and it flies. See that big blob of spearmen stopping your knights from getting in? A terrorgheist says fuck that shit, swoops in, and eats a lord, mage, or whatever you want in the backline. It also poisons shit, and can vomit on blobs to kill shit while in the air too. Now granted, blood knights have more raw damage on charge and over time, but no poison, and they can lose models while the terrorgheist keeps the same damage output until it drops. I've not used mommy to kill shit, or other vampire heroes, but they can be knocked around. This is all in the context of multiplayer, but even outside of it a terrorgheist has it's uses, like terror.

The entirety of beastman gameplay is focused around bowling balls more commonly known as minotaurs.

Minotaurs by far, but Centigors with great weapons aren't bad at all.

How do you VC without 100% relying on magic?

Terrorgheist's biggest issues are its utter dogshit morale (it will literally shit itself to death way before it would get actually killed by weapons) and the fact that it gets stuck in every blob of infantry. Every time you throw it at something that has infantry nearby you're gambling with it getting stuck and unable to lift off. It also costs an arm and a leg. Too much hassle and risk for no gain. I'd rather throw vargheists at enemy fliers if that need ever arises.

You don't. VC legendary lords are meant to be either mages or mage-fighter hybrids. You can recruit a MOMMY or Wight King hero and turn them into pure melee fighters, though. Mommy is good at killing stuff, the wight king is a very good tank.

i picked up the sword of khaine with ikit and now he's having nightmares and my public order is suffering and everyone is ending non agression pacts with me becuase of diplomatic penalty
have i made a mistake?
