sega sank their brand by releasing a bunch of shitty consoles and peripherals and expansions that all flopped. then the dreamcast got cucked hard by the PS2, which had DVDs and better graphics. plus the dreamcast was laughably easy to pirate for, so not even software sales could carry it

ah, yes, because internet speeds in the year 2000 was CLEARLY good enough to where piracy completely killed the dreamcast.
It had an 8:1 games to console attatch rate, that's more than alot of WAY more successful consoles, software sold on the Dreamcast, but the console itself only really appealed to hardcore gamers.
