It's a shame how the final area and final boss drop the ball hard (just whack him once, fall down, climb again, repeat three times) but yeah, I feel the same. If I cared about 3x3 I would put it there.
The sword of moonlight here feels like a genuinely legendary weapon, from the steps to get it (or more exactly, unlock it) to being required for the good ending; the way it is depicted on the Souls games doesn't compare.
