are shantae games actually good or just coombait?
Are shantae games actually good or just coombait?
>He fell for dickthinker opinions
user, you may want to sit down for this. A lot of "anime" games are fucking awful.
They're fun and wholesome.
>Shantae
>anime
tourists should be gassed.
They're simple metroidvanias. Slightly challenging at best. I enjoy them a lot
>durr westerners cant make anime-esque products
Well shit, I guess Voltron, Avatar the Last Airbender, Shantae and a whole lot of others just ceased to exist overnight.
Pirate's Curse is genuinely pretty good.
The rest are coombait.
There both next thread.
Sexyness and quality dont need to be separate the faster the game industry remembers this again. We can have fun in this world again.
They're decent metroidvanias carried by a stellar artstyle and likable characters. Pirate's Curse is the best in the series if you want to pick one of them to play
>There both next thread.
Pirate's Curse is the only truly good one.
Pirate's Curse is good. HGH and the first game are alright but nothing stellar. RR and SS are both shit.
Agree with this except I haven’t played the most recent, and I’d say the GBC game is actually pretty great.
SS is shit
the reviews are good
WHY NOT BOTH
LMAO whoops I guess I needed to but a semi colon there
SS is bad? I was looking forward to playing that :\
>are shantae games actually good or just coombait?
It's both; it always was and always will be. That's why the games have a decent reception for it's game-play mechanics and art-style, even though the franchise isn't insanely popular.
>That's why the games have a decent reception
idk senran kagura and gatchas are coombait with good reception too
I just find it extremely funny that the most fun game is the one that dispenses with Shantae's signature mechanic.
and that's just one of several things needed
>western art cant be anime
>muh animu purism
Gas yourself
>There both next thread.
define "good"
No he's a retard. It's not as good as PC but better than the others.
They're good.
Protip: if you never see gameplay being discussed, the game is cumbraın bait.
Now, have you ever seen Shantae's gameplay discussion?
>idk senran kagura and gatchas are coombait with good reception too
user, I don't think Senran Kagura and Shantae are within the same or are even comparable leagues of each other, especially when you consider the GENRES that these franchises belongs to on mechanical basis, and when you actually consider the extent and amount of "provocative" content in both series; Senran Kagura beats out Shantae hands-down. Shantae was never meant to be a "coomer" game in my opinion, it just attracts them (i.e YOU) due to the character designs and was originally intended to be a unique 2D platformer. Meanwhile, Senran Kagura (and its many iterations) was DESIGNED to be coombait from its inception.
It's better than HGH, worse than Pirates curse
Not loli but same thing applies.
Yes.
Shantae: Good
Risky's Revenge: Bad
Pirate's Curse: Good
Half Genie Hero: Bad
Shantae (and WayForwards games as a whole) have this pattern where one game is decent while the next game is really shit. I theorize they're making too many games too quickly (because they are).
They're more like Zelda 2 than a Metrovania. Pirate's Curse being literally a clone of Zelda 2 with the exact same moves and skills. Even allows you to screw yourself in one dungeon by unlocking doors out of order. Great playtesting WayForward...
coombait, straight up
Are there any unlockable abilities that aren't glorified access passes?
