Replaying this again for the first time in years

Replaying this again for the first time in years.
So what was the deal with Paul and JC?
First time I played it, I was 13 and I just breezed through most of the optional backstory.
Second time, like 8 years after that, I vaguely remember reading something about how their parents were just UNATCO agents?
Then today I replayed the training and watched the intro, and it showed JC in the tank, and then I remembered reading about how they were lab babies (possibly) or something. So were they test tube babies raised by agents, or were they just given similar memories as parents?
Or is all of that disinfo and they had normal ass parents?

also Deus Ex general, I guess
God I love this game.

bump
should I use Malkavian mod for first playthrough?

a what?
Like from Bloodlines?
well, doesn't matter, for first playthrough, just do texture/model replacements if you can't stand vanilla.

The mom was implanted with JC and Paul by MJ12, posing as fertility experts.

Wait, was it really JC in the tank in the intro?

Why is it if I die and start a new game i have the items I died with

did anyone else have trouble beating the first mission?
when i was a kid i always had to get my brother to beat the first level for me, then i could solo everything after it easy peasy

The best mod is GMDX. It improves the game in a lot of ways, but keeps the vanilla feel.

I mean, it's pretty heavily implied.
They talk about the first unit (or something like that) beginning to fail (Paul learning the truth), and mention that the secondary unit will be online in like 6 months.

I was told play vanilla with kentie

do that
don't mod until you've played through at least once

Shifter is a better experience imo.

>, but keeps the vanilla feel
This is a lie.
>The best mod is GMDX
This is another lie.
Do that.

Why?
What are your pros/cons?
What about New Vision?

>tfw deus exs politics are deeply leftist ramblings rooted in the mid 90s to early 2000s and have zero relevance today

cope

Shifter is a gameplay mod with mostly QoL improvements. It's good for a first playthrough. Can be used with New Vision afaik.

>It's good for a first playthrough
This is a lie.

>nasally mouthbeard talking about how dude sex politics influenced him
yeah don't care about this retard lol

>someone dare disagrees with me??
>he's a loser and I don't care about him!
You sound like a woman.

You need to learn to make your own opinions and think for yourself, and the ramblings of a leftist retard in 20 year old x-files video game isn't particularly politically enlightened my low IQ friend.

It's not JC in the tank; it's actually a clone who turns out to be Alex in the sequel.

JC is a clone of Paul, but he wasn't lab-grown. MJ12 stuck him in Mrs. Denton's womb without her knowing.

>everyone that disagrees with me is clearly not thinking for themselves
projecting, please cope

>It's not JC in the tank; it's actually a clone who turns out to be Alex in the sequel.
This is a lie. There are multiple tanks and JC is the one shown at the start. That's why they say "the secondary will be online shortly". JC is the secondary and Paul is the primary that they were considering terminating.

>JC is a clone of Paul
This is a lie.

>but he wasn't lab-grown
This is a lie.

We truly live in a world of terror.

I'm not the one linking to youtube videos of mouthbreathers to make my argument for me. Do you actually get your politics from a bad leftist x-files video game?

>JC and Paul by MJ12
Paul is ten years older than JC.
>it showed JC in the tank
Remember how Everett "turned off" JC so he was probably carried to Everett's secret house? It's possible that JC was raised normally in that school in Switzerland AND had some memories implanted in his mind.

You said it had zero relevance, I linked you a video explaining how it is more relevant today than it was on release.

No, you linked me to a rambling diatribe by a retard who is pointing out that deus ex mentions political networks that span media and corporations exist.

Like big fucking surprise? That's 8th grade shit user. How irrelevant can you get?

>The conspirators' agents, posing as nurses and doctors, in pediatricians' offices and elementary schools across the nation, used the smallpox census data, to keep track of high potential candidates. The specialists in charge of the project were updated regularly on the progress of potential candidates. All the conspirators had to do was wait. Ma and Pa Denton -- two such potential candidates -- fell in love (perhaps even with some help from the conspirators!) and produced young Paul under the watchful, albeit covert eye of Majestic 12 operatives who played the parts of friends, family doctors, neighbors, school teachers and so on...

>When Paul Denton was five, Majestic 12 scientists determined that his physique and genetic makeup were the most suitable for the nano-augmentation project. His immune system was excellent, yet he had no allergic reactions to non-biological foreign materials in his body. He also had no predispositions to myopia, obesity, or heart disease, and he was highly intelligent.

>Paul's mother, who was unable to have any more children but wanted another, was approached by Majestic 12 operatives posing as fertility experts. She was told that she would be paid handsomely in exchange for participating in experimental surgery that would allow her to become pregnant. For Mrs. Denton, who'd been poor all her life, this was a dream come true -- she could have another child AND have enough money to raise her family in comfort. The "fertility experts" assured her that the surgery was minor and the risk was minimal.

>She and her husband agreed to the experiment, unaware that their lives had been closely monitored by the cabal for many years. Although Paul's mother believed that the surgery would let her become pregnant again, in reality the Majestic 12 operatives implanted her with a cloned embryo of Paul.

>being this desperate to miss the point

>(perhaps even with some help from the conspirators!)
What the fuck

still waiting for an argument user, didn't your 20 year old, bad leftist game give you any?

This is a lie.

Attached: jc.jpg (1280x720, 117.57K)

Wealth consolidation, income inequality, literally the first things mentioned in the video.

That's terror

Whoa...we're going back to the 50s with this epic political analysis.

Holy fuck.

>he still can't cope

Wait you're telling me....income equality...is relevant in 2020????

whoa deus ex predicted this!??!?

Not him but you're the one who said they had "zero relevance today". In case you have Alzheimers here's a refresher Obviously plenty of political hot topics didn't just spring out of the ground yesterday, they have deep roots. And there are some issues that have always plagued civilization.

>the game is irrelevant
>NOOO THAT DOESN'T COUNT
*yawn*
Please try harder,

Not him but it's very much out of date and draws no meaningful conclusions, as it must stick within its rigid neoliberal framework.
